( I think we too often get caught up in the technical aspects of photography and ignore it's stronger impact of emotion or metaphor). Neat pano...saw George Lepp do a demo on panos recently in the DC area (Meadowlark Gardens) and he, too, recommended the vertical approach with stunning results...and El Capitan at 83 inches ought to be stunning, too!
