Meet “RCâ€: The New Photoshop Guru In Town!

I’m excited to introduce you to the “new kid in town,†and the latest addition to NAPP’s in-house team of Photoshop gurus, Rafael Concepcion (he prefers to go by just “RCâ€).
We first met RC a couple of years ago at Photoshop World Miami during a preconference workshop based on the TV Show “So you think you can dance?†called “So you think you can teach Photoshop?†This pre-con was designed for Photoshop instructors, and besides teaching NAPP criteria for becoming a Photoshop World instructor, each student would give a 10-minute presentation in front of the class and each session would be critiqued by the instructors (Matt, Dave, and myself). Then, at the end of the day the class would choose the best instructor, and that instructor would then get to teach a 30-minute session in the NAPP theater on the Expo floor.
Well, RC won the competition in a unanimous vote, but it was his live Expo floor session that caught our attention. He was doing such a great job, that the moderator for that class was grabbing staffers off the floor to come and see this guy in action—he was that good! Since then we’ve been talking on and off to RC and when it was time to add another Photoshop expert to our team, his abilities, and his personality, were a perfect fit for our team and we’re just tickled to have him on board.
He was based in Long Island, New York and he’s in process of relocating to our Tampa, Florida home base (apparently this is a natural move for New Yorkers and didn’t phase him in the least), and we hope you’ll help welcome RC into our NAPP family (feel free to leave him any comments here on the blog). Also, we introduce RC on this week’s show, and on next week’s episode he’s showing a cool trick using Photoshop CS3 Extended.

I am so happy that RC is now part of NAPP and I can’t wait to sit right in the front row when he teaches. Congratulations and good luck!
Good luck in the your new position RC. Although the chances of ever getting to meet your personally are even less than me running into an Alien in a Candy store – you being in Tampa and me in Germany, I look forward to seeing you on NAPP TV . On second thoughts however, the Alien thing might be a poor comparison – whose that guy sitting in the middle wearing the glasses
Congrats, RC… You’ll have a blast working with Kelby & crew. Tampa is a beautiful area, too.
Good luck on the packing and be sure to remember where you packed the TV remote!
Congrats RC!!!! Look forward to seeing you on PhotoshopTV. Good luck on your move to the sixth borough.
Welcome RC, you have joined a great group at NAPP. I look forward to learning from you as well. No pressure of course
In response to the article regaurding “RC”, It was nice to see him get the recognition he deserves in a 15 minute teaching at the Miami confrence.
I was a student of RC’s for 3 years at New Horizons and was able to grasp
the graphic software quickly and easily due to his explanations and interaction with the class. RC has an ability to see who was absorbing the information and how to relate to the students on a whole. RC would cover the class in a timely fashion and all aspects were covered during his sessions. His creativity was present and made the class a fun learning enviroment.
Good luck RC and welcome to Florida
the cheerio state! ô¿ô

Congrats to RC on your move to Tampa. its no surprise he wowed everyone at NAPP. he has been doing it for years. good luck man
RC has been amazing us here on Long Island with all his computer skills for years. When our company was looking for a demo for our software, only one name came to mind – RC! Wishing you much success on your new adventure, to include your upcoming nuptials!
I met RC at the Midnight Madness Boston in April. He kept us entertained while we waited anxiously to go in. Congrats RC!
Welcome! Bienvenido! all the best and hope to learn tons from you!
Hey bro , good luck and much success.

Enjoyed very much your tutorial on animating file sequence. I have experimented with it for a couple of days and I have noted however, that files processed into DNG (adobe’s standard for raw) the image sequence option is not available. What gives? My CR2 work OK.
Apears to be reading timestamp to sequence photos and will gap them if not in proper format.
Keep the tips coming they are great.

What is the url for RC Concepcion’s weblog?
I recently joined NAPP and was looking forward to expanding my knowledge base. In trying to down load tutorials I found that I could not save them but I could download and look at them. Not blessed with a photographic memory I needed to save so I could refer back to them. On the recommendation of NAPP I purchased QuickTime Pro, so I could save them. Now I cannot view or save. NAPP told me that they were purposefully making it difficult for me to download? Not impossible? Copyright issues? I just don’t get it? So do I have to do to see one tutorial video? I just want to learn a few new things? Does that make me bad?
The older 2 were reminiscing the other day and your name came up (due to ice cream cones and Parap the Rapper!) Any way I told them I would try to locate you – and it did not take much effort at all! Congrats on the baby, the job and for your apparent successes. Maybe we can catch up some time. Until then Godspeed to you brother.

Dear Kelby,
I enjoy taking pictures and recently purchased a Nikon D700 via Adorama. I enjoy this camera, and noted that it had been previously used by Rafael RC Concepcion -Copyright note. I’d like to know if it had any repairs, its amount of usage, and if it performed as designed. Hopefully, his skills will somehow be magically reflected in my pictures. Not having his email or contact source, would you be kind enough to either forward this note to him, or send me his email address. I’m 84 yrs old and would appreciate your reply. My name is:
David Wycoff,
Email: dawcy@verizon.net

Thank you for your care!
I have been waching the tutorials of RC, and he is one of the best teaching the integration of Ps and Dw
But I have some questions for him, how can send him an Email?
Does he has an website? or a blog?
thanks
