A Few Shots From Last Night
My brother Jeff and I went shooting for an hour or so last night after dinner. The sky had great color but all the good clouds were pretty much behind us, but we had a blast just being together and shooting anyway. At one point, I took a shot, looked over at Jeff who was shooting nearby and said “I think I just qualified for the ‘Cliché Maine Harbor Shot’ Hall of Fame.” We stood there laughing until what was left of the good light went away.
Anyway, here’s a couple of shots from tonight’s shoot, (click on them for a larger version—if you dare).

They are wonderfull: colours are lovely, contrast is vefy good and looking to them, I’m sure you use a very good lense
The board of Cliché Maine Harbor Shots will review your photos and contact you in a couple of weeks. They have told me in confidence that you have a good shot at getting this years award…
Good images none-the-less!
Hi Scott – Beautiful Pictures. My friend, Aaron, just got back from a Virtual Tour Workshop in San Francisco and sent me this link to his blog with his full blown emersion Virtual Tour of the Golden Gate Bridge. I just thought you might find this interesting! I feel like I have been there. http://aaronbaileyphotography.com/blog/golden-gate-bridge-tourist-virtual-tour
Enjoy your time with the Family,

Scott, do you use a lightroom flash gallery for your photos? if so, which one, the way they are presented is fantastic.
Hi Joe:
I did use a Lightroom gallery for the portfolio link that appears under my photo. I just edited one of the existing default galleries. All I did was add an extra row of thumbnails and an extra column (so the default gallery had three rows and three columns). I put a white stroke around the thumbnails (that’s a new 1.1 feature), and then added my Identity Plate up top. That’s pretty much it.
I started with the built-in template called “Midnight.” Give it a try (it’s easier than you’d think).

You define the meaning of professional I totally have a better understanding of what that means when I look at you photos.
Thanks for the great looking photos. I really appreciate all the work you and all the NAPP friends do!
It’s hard to make something that we’ve seen a million times look fresh. This is something you certainly did here. I really like the color pallet of the third shot down. It’s nice to look at just plain pretty. Thanks for the moments of your seeing it and choosing to share it on your vacation.
Scott you said last week before you left that you would post this week about the new book you are working on and shooting photos for on this trip. Today is Friday, please don’t keep us waiting much longer, we all want to know what the new book will be.
These images are just magnificent Scott. I love the deep contrast and the perfect reflections in the water. One question though. Was the water really that calm in the first image? Or have you done some touch-ups to it? If you have could you possibly do a tutorial on Photoshop User TV perhaps
? That is, if you haven’t already of couse. I’ve just taken some water shots myself and I wasn’t that lucky with the reflections. Any tips on how to tweak it abit?
Anyways, keep up the ever so great work.
Have a great vacation!
To Steffen:
I wish I could take credit for a cool Photoshop technique that made the water look like that, but the real technique was “luck.” It just happened to be really smooth silky water, and the only “touch up” I did was use the healing brush on a couple of little sticks and things floating in the water (it’s was all of 30-seconds of clean-up).
To Daniel:
I haven’t gotten the final clearance to talk about the photos yet, but maybe next week (if all goes well).
To Vincent: You just made my day.
I am surprised of the beautiful photos. The air is so clear and the scene is broad.I never have a chance to see this scene in the place I live in China, all around me is dirty air and crowded houses!
BIG WOW
fabulous photos Scott.
