Equipment Insurance Now Available for NAPP Members
If you’re a professional photographer, check this out: NAPP is partnering with Hill & Usher to make equipment and professional liability insurance available to qualifying members. Hill & Usher specialize in this type of coverage for photographers, videographers, graphic artists, and other art related interests. Premiums for customized package policies generally start at $500 per year, with flexible monthly or quarterly payment plans offered in most programs. If you’re a NAPP member, click here to jump to a special area we’ve created on the member site with more information.

I recently had some equipment stolen and so now I’m looking at insurance for my new equipment. I am not yet a NAPP member, but I have thought about it. I am not a professional, just an avid amateur. It sounds like this service is not applicable to me, but I just wanted to check. This might be a reason to join NAPP. As I understand it, insurance riders for equipment can usually be added to a homeowners policy. Is that the better route for a non-professional? I can’t see any of the details because I’m not a NAPP member.
Hey Scott,
Do you know if Hill and Usher is going to extend this coverage to all of us that live in Florida. I am real close to you guys here in St. Pete and was told by Hill and Usher a bout two weeks ago that could not insure equipment in FL.
I may join PPA to get in on their program which seems to cover FL, but would rather do it through NAPP if I could.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Scott,
I’m a customer of Hill and Usher and I have to say their package is incredibly comprehensive. For event photographers they even include coverage for the real gotchas like loss of photo data. In this regard they will pay to rent all of the wedding party’s clothing if needed to reshoot the formals as an example. Coverage of gear, both studio and field is full replacement cost however you do need to supply a very details list and keep it up to date. While I have not had to make a claim yet, (fingers crossed), a fellow local photographer has and they have been very prompt in his dealings with them.
Now if I could only get that discount retroactively, LOL. Cya
