I’m up in Chicago at the convention center setting up for my Lightroom Day (the photo above taken by my buddy Dave Moser), and it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to blog today, but I’ve got some cool stuff for tomorrow.

‘m doing some live shoots today during the class, and if I get the chance I’ll take a shot of the crowd on hand and post it here.

    That was the first stop on my US Tour, back in April. We’ll have to catch you next year, or you can come out to Phoenix later this year. :)

    I have your CS3 book. On page 7 there is a screen shot. Under behavior, you have a box to check to launch Adobe downloader when camera is connected. I do not have that. I e-mailed Peter at NAPP help desk. He could not help. I use Windows XP Pro. Is this just a Mac thing or am I just not doing something right.

    Scott, you are probably well on your way home from Chicago already, but I just wanted to thank you for all the time you spent, and knowledge you poured into us today. It was awesome, even the part where you had to buy the serial # for the software you needed for the demo ;)

    I’m a NAPP member and attended Photoshop World last year in Miami for the first time. IT BLEW MY MIND…As a graphic designer I tried to avoid the photography track because it seemed inaccessible, and I thought it would take years to acquire enough knowledge to make it enjoyable. By chance I attended the 2 hour session were they had a panel of some of the most talented photographers in the the business and I saw their work and was so inspired that I went out and bought a camera the very next day… Haven’t looked back since. It changed my life… I love photography, and sincerely believe that you played a big role in it by helping build this industry from the ground up. Thank you for your passion and willingness to share, it is a constant inspiration and has meant a great deal to me…

    I guess this is also a shameless plug to attend PSW ;)

    one last thing — and this is going to bug me forever if I don’t ask you: I noticed today that while you were shooting Debbie, that your shutter-speed was only 1/13 of a sec. and that your ISO was set to 200. How on earth did those pics turn out so sharp? Is it just because of the lighting, or are you normally able to get away with the shutter being set so slow?

    Scott,
    Great show today in Chicago, thanks. And to you KD (Comment #10) instead of belly aching, maybe you should be taking notes. Scott understands rapid innovation and time to market, the value of being customer lead and most importantly- he has figured out the critical ways to reach large groups of people to provide education and guidance. If you don’t like the music, change the channel.

    Scott,
    Just a quick THANK YOU for a wonderful workshop today in Chicago. My wife and I both attended. We have returned to our Merrillville, Indiana location full of fresh ideas and wisdom that would have taken much longer to learn on our own. LR rocks! It is simply amazing the amount of time we’ll be saving following your great workflow examples. The session was informative, professional and well worth the admission! We even became NAPP members today… knew we should have long ago, just didn’t take the time to do so. We’re in now and can’t wait for even more knowledge in this ever-changing and exciting photography world. Than you again and best of luck in your “tour”. Rick Bella, Bella Photography

    Long Time Viewer, First Time Caller - Just wanted to mention that your Site ROCKS and I like how you share the Photoshop Love. You had mentioned @ our St Louis conference about a GPS receiver that attaches directly to your camera. Do you any recollection of this?

    Scott, just for curiosity sake, would you happen to know how many people have attended your Lightroom seminars to date? Also what percentage, if you were to guess, is made up of pros? Every time you mention how many attendees you have I have to cringe. I think it’s great for you , but 500 and 800 a pop seems to be a bellwether. I’m convinced people in our industry or interested in become part of need to watch this very carefully. I’d appreciate your reply if possible.

    Hi Scott,
    Just wanted to thank you for a FANTASTIC LR workshop in Chicago! I’ve been working with the program since the beta version, and I still learned SO much from the seminar. You are an amazing instructor and photographer! And thanks for the tip about using the identity plate for the copyright watermark (yeah, it was me who bugged you about that during the break!). And by the way, congrats on the weight loss - you look great! And it sounds like you had an incredible night following the seminar - how fun!

    I hope you bring a lightroom session to Oklahoma City some day. As the last lines of your editorial in Photoshop User Magazine says, I will indeed shake your hand in Vegas. I am very excited to make my first Photoshop World Event.
