This Thursday My Photoshop CS3 Power Tour Comes to Boston

Hey, if you’re up in the Boston area (or need a semi-legitimate excuse to go up to Boston for the day), come and spend the day with me (and around 700 of my new closest friends), as we bring the Photoshop CS3 Power Tour to Boston’s Hynes Convention Center this Thursday, Oct. 4th. It’s only $99 for the day; $79 if you’re a NAPP member. Here are all the details. Hope I’ll see you there.

I’ll see you there.
I have a Lightroom question that no one else can seem to answer. Maybe you could comment here our I will try to speak to you in Boston.
I have a set of pictures all arrange as I would like in the print Module ( multiple pictures in a multi-picture layout ( let’s say 4 cell layout different iamges with identity plate).
I print the image as arranged, I like it and now I want to save for future printing of same exact layout. I can not find away to save the layout WITH the images. My only solution appears to be to do this type of arrangement in PS.
I tried printing to file with no luck.
Any suggestions,
Thanks and looking forward to another great session on Thursday.
Peter
Peter, you can print it to a file. On windoze you can just check the “print to file” option in the print dialog box and select which file you want to print to. I would be very surprised if it wasn’t available on MacOS as well.
This of course means that you can’t change it later, but if I understand you correctly that is not what you want. On the other hand I can definatly see that a LR feature that lets you edit the setup later can be useful.

Off Topic: color cast and how it affects what you see….. very Kelbyian cool!

Dear Scott and friends, I would like to ask you for your advice regarding usage of MacBook Pro 15″ 2.2GHz for professional editing… Do you think it is capable to run Photoshop CS3 or Lightroom comfortably? Based on your experience can one use it while travelling to produce quality prints for magazines? I prefer to troubleshoot before I buy:o))
Thanks a bunch.
Lucia
Scott,
I attended your CS2 Power Tour last year. Can you reply to this post and tell everyone what the main differences are from your CS2 Power Tour and the CS3 Power Tour that way it will be easier to make a decision about going.
Hmm, to bad it’s not possible to delete ones stupid comments, or perhaps I should actually have read what Peter wrote a little bit more carefully…
I didn’t see that you already tried the obvious and when I tried it myself I can’t get print to file to work in lightroom either, it works in other applications, very strange…
Stefan,
Thanks for the reply and also confirming that print to file does not work in Lightroom as in other applications.
I posted the same question on the NAPP lightroom forum, Adobe forum a couple of months ago with no reply.
I know that this was also off the topic and not the intent of Scott’s post but I though maybe he might have a answer ? Sorry Scott for getting off the subject of your CS3 Powertour in Boston.
Peter
Boston is great.. so we have you going to the North East… How about the North West? Seattle is great this time of year… OK I lie, but we have some great green trees
Try creating a “collection†of the pictures you want to print and reprint. Sort them the way you want. Select all in the collection and then go to the print module and select the layout you created. The next time you want to print the same pictures you can just select the collection and the layout to print again.
Wow…virtually every comment is off-topic here. It sounds like a great time is gonna be had in Boston. Too bad I just returned from the NE. When are you going to be pushing the CS3 or Lightroom tours through the SE? (Charlotte, Savannah, Atlanta, etc.)? I know I missed one in Charlotte a short time ago, but would be interested in knowing when you plan on making it back this way…
Anyway, enjoy Boston and Hawaii after that Scott – rough life I know, but glad you’re doing it for the rest of us!
This is gonna sound so trite and it is not. Coming to your place is the favorite part of my night. (I know, I need a life)
Actually, I love my life for many reasons, and NAPP and the learning resources provided by the website is definitely one of those reasons. The never ending stream of information and learning availability is much appreciated. I never grow tired of the learning and you and your excellent
staff just keep it coming our way. Thank you. Wow!
When are you coming to LA man…..?
As much as I like to go to Hawaii, it’s not happening.
Angelinos need you, please come out!!!
