I really want to buy your book, man, but even on my brand new 8-core Mac Pro, Photoshop CS3 demonstrates tremendous brush lag with all drawing tools whether using the mouse or the tablet! I actually had to go back to CS2, which is faster for drawing in PPC emulation than CS3 is running natively on my Intel Mac.

Bummer!!

Even bigger bummer? Lots of other people have this problem and Adobe won't say a word about it. I hope that NAPP and other big Photoshop-lovers groups will get this very real issue out into the open so it can be fixed!

Hi,
Scott emailed me the answer, the url is in the intro of the book. There's a Q&A format and the url is in the answer to the question: "So where are the photos so we can download". Cheers.

Hi,
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE POST THE URL HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PICTURES IN THE BOOK? I can't find it anywhere. Not in the book itself, nor on Scott Kelby's sites, nor on peachpit.com nor even Google. I'd like to get started asap... Thanks.

Answers to previous questions:
Q: Can I use this for CS2? or previous versions?
A: Not easily. The System is using functionality from CS3 that is not available directly in previous PS versions.

Q: Can I do this all in Lightroom?
A: No. Some corrections require PS CS3. Adobe themselves say that the two are meant to complement each other, not replace. Also, some users of LR have said that this book uses Adobe Camera RAW twice on some steps which requires a workaround in LR. That work around is achievable, but not straight forward. You'll have to look into this as I don't know it (no lightroom).

Happy shooting.

Question: I just printed (Adorama) a 20x30" print of my daughter. I used your resizing recommendations from CS3 for photographers. Where in the 7-points should I resize? After the sharpening? Before?

Hi Scott,
I am a loyal fan and am excited about the ideas presented in the book. However, I was a little surprised that you indicated that images from the camera were "pretty bad". I guess as an old film photographer, I subscribe to the rule that the better the initial image, the better the final image. I use photoshop extensively to either just enhance a good picture or to even change it dramatically. But, I truly believe that in order to have a superior final image, the initial image out of the camera needs to be shot with care and thought.

I look forward to applying the principles in the book, as I believe they will be incredibly beneficial and enhance the hard work that I have already put into ensuring that the image out of the camera is of the best quality.

Thanks!

Hi Scott,
I just purchased the book at Barnes & Noble, and I was wondering if there was a way to get the photos used in the book.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Scott, I just received this book from Amazon today and am impressed. One really basic question, are the raw pictures provided? There is not CD inside my copy of the book and I cannot find any mention of a download site. While it is possible to follow along with examples while reading the book it would be great (to say the least) to follow along while using CS3.

Thanks!
