Dear Scott,
I was wondering how you get that blue wavy background on photoshop instead of the plain gray. I would love it if you could please email me and let me know...or announce it on an episode of photoshopusertv.

Just saw a piece on c/net news where they want people's input on which is better - Lightroom or Aperture. Could be interesting to see who wins.

Kudos to Matt on his new Layers book, I thought I knew a lot, but in the first chapter I wished I had some of that info last December when I was putting the Miss Rodeo USA Pageant Program together!

Looking forward to Dave Cross's new program in OK City on Wednesday, I bet he'll rock us all!

Your buddy,
Dr J

Re: the pic with all of your books.
You should leave a comment on his photo site. He obviously likes you, and a lot of people look to you like you're a rock star. For me, it would be like Dave Grohl pointing to me at a Foo Fighters concert, and saying "You, Rich Stokes, rocked the hardest tonight!"

In your interview, you say that Camera Raw in Lightroom has features that are not in CS3. What are they? Thanks

Hi Scott,

Thanks so much for a brilliant website and for encouraging guys like me who are passionate about photography and photoshop.

I can only agree with you about the bad news that is broadcast through the media these days. I live in South Africa and it is the same here. There are days that I just don't watch the news because so much of it is negative. I know that they need to keep people informed about what is happening, but it feels as though the bad guys out number the good guys in this mixed up world we live in.

I have resolved to go out each day with the attitude that if I touch someone's life in a positive way today, then it could make a huge differenced to the way I feel about life and the world we live in. I think that the best way to shake off the down feeling after watching negative news is to turn it around by a positive attitude towards the people we work with. Find someone who you know doesn't deserve kindness and give them kindness. Also find someone who doesn't deserve compassion and show them some. This is the quickest way to shake off that yukky feeling and retrieve your sanity in a sin sick society.

Regards,

Rory

Scott,
As another early riser, I thank you for getting up early ( or posting late the night before?) so that we can read before the sun comes up. Of couurse I should be outside with a sturdy tripod, but i promised no more sunrises until March first.
