My New “Photoshop Elements 6 for Digital Photographers” Book Is On Its Way to Bookstores!
Last week I saw my first batch of copies of my new book, co-authored with my buddy and fellow Photoshop Guy, Matt Kloskowski, “The Photoshop Elements 6 Book for Digital Photographers.” This is the first version of the book that Matt and I have worked on together, and I’m am just thrilled with how it came out.
This new version covers all the new features in Elements 6, but we added lots of new techniques, and I did an entirely new section on Camera Raw processing in Elements 6, which is infinitely more powerful than it was in previous versions, plus I added a special section on workflow, and Matt brought his bag of tricks to the table, and well…there’s lots of cool new stuff for Elements users.
Matt is a brilliant teacher who really brought a lot to the book, and I think it’s the best version of the book yet. Amazon.com shows it shipping next week, and we have copies in-house, so it should be hitting everywhere real soon. If you want to get your first, here’s the link to the book on Amazon.com and at Barnes&Noble.com.

Sounds like a great book Scott and Matt, great job on it.
Pre-Orderd from Amazon today. The version 5 book was so good I had to have the latest.
Hi Scott.. Was hoping you or someone else might be able to help.
I ordered half your kit from B&H (sb800, tri grip with stand and clamp, reflector stand, manfrotto flash clamp) just instead of two sb800’s I got one….
I was really excited, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to mount the tripgrip clamp, or the flash clamp on the stands… Is it possible I am missing some screws? I cant attach the flash clamp to match the way it is in your book Digital Photography 2. By me if I attach it, the flash will face the floor (it attaches under the clamp not on top). Also the tri grip clamp cannot connect sideways to hold the trigrip as indicated in the picture on the B&H website.
Also the reflector stand, the pictures show some arm that is suppose to come out and hold the reflector, mine only seems to go up nothing comes out…..
Thanks for your help. I will post some links to pictures in the next comment (last time I posted them, it said the comment had to be moderated and it never got approved…
Thanks for your help! Dan
Here are some pics
THis is the only way I can get the clamp to go on the stand:

This way seems the proper way but it just doesn’t fit

The Flash holder too doesn’t mount, this seems the logical placement but the screw is too big for the hole:

Hmmm, interesting that you’re seeing production copies since I pre-ordered your book, but just got a note from Amazon last week that it’s been delayed…to Apr 14th.
No matter, I hope it does arrive by then so I can read it on my vacation!
Chris
Finally! I’ve owned Elements 6 for several months now but have been unable to do anything but the most basic and intuitive of tasks. This book (for version 5) has been so beneficial for others I know so I forced myself to wait until this new edition came out. Looking forward to getting my hands on a copy!
Dear Scott,
This message is not related to this particular post, but I just needed to tell you, just got done viewing David Ziser’s first three lessons. I have got to tell you, “I am just completely blown away!!!!” You are the bomb!!!!! Joe Mcnally, Vincent Versace, Moose Peterson, and Scott Kelby for just $17.99 a month? You have got to be kidding me!!!!
One happy customer,
Tim Vailoces
Scott,
I am upgrading to PSE 6.0 for the Mac. Is PSE 6 going to be different on the Mac than on the PC? WIll this book cover Mac PSE 6.0 or will you publish a different book?
Thanks,
Matt
Scott,
I’ve been sitting on my hands with the Amazon pre-order for some time now and finally bit the bullet today right before I read this. DP version 2 is en route too. I loved the v5 book (my only gripe is I wish you went into slightly more detail as to why you use certain recipes or values for a tool. When I run one of your steps and it works I love it and wonder what I just really did.
However, is there any part of the v6 book that tells you what to do when Adobe releases a horribly unstable version of elements that crashes every time you open the organizer? Rumor has it that Adobe won’t fix something like this until version 7 comes out and I’ve seen a lot of griping that the organizer is unreliable.
Scott, another book by you. When do you ever find the time to take a break?
Scott & all:
My copy just shipped from Barnes & Noble (I ordered mid December).
I thought I was the only one with stability problems with the organizer.
I really am looking forward to getting the book, though. Scott’s books are by far the most user friendly and results oriented.
Carl
hey Scott, et. al, just a quick update, I got an Amazon notice tonight that my book has shipped, so much for being delayed until Apr 14th per their prior notice. Looking forward to it.
Scott / Mat, ordered your book as soon as it was available. Immediately started to dig in…only to discover that my copy had pages 17-32 replaced with duplicate copies of pages 49-64.
Please God tell me that there was nothing important on pages 17-32!!! Oh and tell me what I can do about it?
I just bought the photoshop elements 6 book. I use a Mac and am trying to find the book’s download website so I can get access to instructions for Adobe Bridge. Where is it; without that, the book is pretty much useless.

Good book… enjoy reading it… a big problem, however…
my book has pages 449-464 replaced by duplicated pages of 465-480!!!
I have emailed Scott to see if he knows of any general production issue. Also chasing Amazon for an exchange.
I really can’t find where I can download the Bridge chapter for Macs. I just bought the book and really want to know how to organize my many photos.
It’s not easy to find the download (obviously).
Please help as soon as possible.
Thank you.
The Bridge chapter for the Mac can be found on the book’s download website (the same place where you can download the photos). The link to the website is on page xv of the book and the downloadable chapter is the first link on the webpage: “Chapter 1b - London Bridge: Bridge Essentials (FOR MAC USERS ONLY).
:0)
The first time you mention the chapter on Mac Bridge on page XIV is where you should insert the web address where Mac users can find it. Merely saying parenthetically that it’s online is not helpful. Online where? You certainly have room for the URL in the graph where it’s mentioned.
