I’m Heading to Photoshop World today. On Crutches!

By Scott on Monday, March 31st, 2008 at 1:32 am | updates.

crutches.jpg

Yup, it’s true. I’m on crutches, with a knee-high boot/splint on my leg. I sprained my foot, and fractured a small bone in there as well, while walking on my treadmill last week, so I’m hobbling around on crutches for the next few weeks, and yes—I’ll be doing the Photoshop World keynote on crutches.

I’m not sweatin’ it though—-it’s like my father always used to say about things like this, “If this is the worst thing that ever happens to you, you’ll have a great life.” :)

So, if you see me hobbling around, or cruising in a sleek pimped out scooter, make sure you give me one of those, “Break a Leg” lines. ;-)

    Scott:

I hope that you mend quickly as I am going to miss your ever-smiling face on photoshop user TV.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Ouch ouch Scott! Although I must admit it will be a fun sight seeing you doing the keynote on crutches, but all wishes here for a speedy recovery :)

Also, just thought I’d let you know about a little Photoshop World guide I did on my blog today: http://www.bernskiold.com/2008/03/31/photoshop-world-orlando-week/

Really sorry to hear about your foot. Not good at all! But, you know, I was thinking for a chap and gizmo orientated as yourself (and thats a good thing :D ) I think a Segway for the conference would be just the thing! Talk about making an entrance!

All the best for the conference and more importantly your recovery.

    Hi Scott,
you have to take it positively, who else can have breakfast in bed??? :-)
And as long as you are on crutches, you´re probably safe of misinterpreted hand gestures… ;-)

I hope you have a quick recovery! Greetings from Germany.

By the end of Photoshop World, everyone is gonna be walking around on crutches…that’s how good you are at selling things. Half the attendees will think using crutches increases hand strength for making Photoshop selections! LOL

At least it’s just an ankle and nothing worse - good perspective you’re keeping Scott. Have fun with the gang in PS World - wish I was gonna be there!

All the best for Photoshop World - wish I could get there.

BTW, just bought Matt’s Layers book - brilliant!!

    Scott,
It seems as it things like that always happen at the worst times. I hope you are as good as new very soon. I will keep praying for you all. All your “personal friends” are thinking of you.
Next year, I expect to be there.

    Hi Scott,

Your keynote in Vegas was ON! I’m sure you will be fine today in Orlando.

I only wish I could be there.

I did figure out how to shoot tethered this weekend. I was so close a few weeks back when I tried. I didn’t change the way the camera communicated with the pc. After I did that, everything went very well.

See ya and have fun in Orlando

Oh man, what a drag! It’s always one of those goofy silly incidents too…walking on the treadmill. Ya know, instead of like doing a 90% MaxHearRate interval circuit or something!

Oh well….people will just take that much more care of ya, like they should have all these other years! :-P

Take it easy man and stick with and really push that Physical Therapy when it comes time to start it…unlike me after my broken ankle that now has horrible range of motion!

I am very sorry to read this, and I hope for you a very fast recovery and I pray to god to make this the last bad fortune of this kind to happen to you.
(and it seems that not only yours books can Broke the records) ^_^

    Scott,

Hope you get better soon. Treadmills are nasty. Use the road instead.

Didn’t Dad tell you that exercise is dangerous and should be avoided when alone at all cost? When you tire from the crutches and need an assistant to wheel you around the convention floor you have my email, but decide soon as I’m in Los Angeles. In the meantime I recommend plentry of down time with an ice cold 2 liter bottle of Coke Zero.

Injured while walking on a treadmill…..this sounds like a truly sad story. Maybe you can have Matt and Dave sign your cast on the latest Photoshop TV episode. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

What a perfect opportunity to make a grand entrance, Scott. You should come in like a Pharaoh in a Cecil B de mile movie. On a recliner carried by your minions. Now that would be a great picture!

Ouch, crutches are not fun. Just remember that there are worse things you could be doing on a hurt leg. for example, My brother broke his leg the day before he left for a tour in China.

Well, you asked for it, so here yah go:

“Way ta break a leg, dude!” :-)

Seriously speaking though, wishing yah a quick recovery.

    Hi Scott,

For many of us, not English language natives, you are not only a

master at teaching Photoshop but also a great English Language teacher.

Without your accident I would have never known what a treadmill is.

I am sure you will manage to light up Photoshop World Convention with

your fantastic initiatives and I look forward reading your daily comments.

Get well soon from Rome, Italy.

    You asked for it…

    -Step 3:
Press J, making sure you have the Healing Brush Selected. Now press and hold Option while clicking on an area of the good leg. Repeat as needed until the broken leg looks like the good one.

-Most people go and buy a tripod, not make themselves into one. Thats what I like about you, always thinking outside the box.

-I guess you won’t be “running” into anybody tommorrow.

    K,feel better, see you tommorrow,
