I’m off this week to Dubai to speak at Adobe’s Middle East Design Conference, which is coming up on April 12th. I’m doing a Photoshop Down & Dirty Tricks session, and spending a few days shooting before and after. Working with Seven Steps and can’t get ‘paintint with light’ to work. It works fine with the lessons, but doesn’t work on my stuff.
Opening (tiff) in camera raw, ok with shift for smart object.
Copy layer as smart object via copy.
Double click layer thumbnail to get to camera raw again.
Make fixes, then OK.
Have two confirmd smart images–one edited.
Add layer mask (white).
Change Foreground to Black. Use soft brush.
Get circle with diagonal line replacing brush, and note that image must be rasterized????
I’ve spent hours on this, and can’t figure where I’m going wrong. Is it my computer? As I said, the lessons work fine (I’m up to #8).
I’ve learned more from Seven Steps than I’ve ever learned from a Photoshop book, and ordered your new CS3 book from Amazon, but I’m at a brick wall until I find what’s wrong with my problem.
Hope you can help. I know it’s a lot to ask, for personal questions, but I really need help.
