Scott,

You said you use Aperture for printing books. Does it do anything with regard to printing books better than iPhoto does? It appears from the Apple website that the two are equivalent in this regard. I'm using iPhoto currently, but I'd consider purchasing Aperture if there's a benefit I'm missing out on in the book-printing department.

Thanks in advance,
Phill

ANSWER TO ROD

I was being sarcastic, The fact of the matter I saw Scott about four years
ago in Washington D.C., this actually changed my life. I'm a Print Shop Production Manager that hates his job, since then, I have become a Pro Photographer, Photo Restorer, to the point this now competes with my Print Shop duties. I LOVE everything SCOTT KELBY, PERIOD!! I read his books, watch his videos, have been to Photoshop World and plan to go again, maybe this year (if I'm not to busy on a shoot), read his blog. I think your barking up the wrong tree, fido!!
SO that there is no misunderstanding Scot Kelby is my HERO, I am starting my second career because of his inspiration....... I might be a dumbass, but with a second career, that I love.......

THANK YOU SCOTT KELBY for being SCOTT KELBY

Scott,

You SHOULD be getting a paycheck from Adobe - your incredible books are the best instructions out there, and make using these products a breeze. The Apple folks should find their own uber-instructor... :)

I'm sure by now, with all the other supportive comments people have made you don't need another one letting you know that you do an awesome job not only with this blog, but in all that you do for the photoshop user community; but I thought I'd drop a line anyway. You rock! I find your blogs, books, and video training very helpful and inspiring. Thank you for helping me be a better Photoshop user.

Although after 60+ posts here...you don't really need another. But reminds me of a PS class I taught where a student kept chiming in about how iPhoto was so much easier to use than PS.

Just wanted to say thanks for all that you do put out for free Scott, I have learnt a lot from this and Matt's site. I made my choice of product long ago and then searched out info on the Web, finding both your sites.

I now own The 7 point system, Digital Photography 1 & 2, your lightroom book, your channels book, 'The Moment it Clicks' and Dave Cross' Photoshop finishing touches book. I also joined NAPP (and I am thinking about Kelby training and Matt's Layer's book).

Have you done well out of this? Not as well as me! The progression in my photography and post processing work over the last couple of years is startling. I realised this, just the other day when looking for an old photo.

Pretty much everything I have learnt has basically come from your 'crew' or from a Nikon Forum I read (www.nikon1d.net)

Thanks for everything and please keep it up! And as they said in Rome Noli illegitimi carborundum!

This is for Charlie in post #56 who said, "I don’t see the name Photoshop anywhere in the name Lightroom…." I triple read your post to make sure you weren't just being sarcastic, and I don't think you were, so I feel I need to tell you something...

The official name of the product is ADOBE PHOTOSHOP LIGHTROOM.

You seem like a really good guy and I just felt you needed to know that before you posted that same statement in some other forum and it was followed by a hundred posts calling you a dumbass or some other mean characterization. You're amongst friends here on Scott's blog, so it's OK! :-)

I concur with so many others that have already commented Scott. I am also a blog author and some of the comments I receive also fail to see the big picture (or even pay attention to the actual post).

Especially in the case of your blog, for every two comments like that, there are hundreds from people that do pay attention and take away great key learnings from the things you talk about.

Thanks for all you do!

Scott,
People like this don't really deserve your time sending the justification as they are the usual 1% who spoil things for the masses. As many posts have said everything connected to yourself has Photoshop attached to it so it's natural that you are blogging about PS products. I find your writing funny informative and above all honest. As a reader of your web stuff and buyer of 3 of your excellent books I'm very gratefull to you for your contribution to my digital imaging education. At the end of the day we're all adults (well most of us anyway) and if you say this is good that is great we don't all rush out and buy it because the great Scott Kelby says we should. What most of us do is have a look and compare with other similar products and then decide which is best for our particular need. If you were on a kickback from Adobe I'd be in the camp that said you deserve it but as I feel you're an up front honest guy who says he's not holidaying in Adobe's luxury villa in Hawaii for free then I believe you.
One last point I REALLY want the Really Right Stuff ball head you tell us to buy in your book (those free Merc SL's drive well don't they?) but my wife would rather spend the money on a holiday. If you could give me some pointers as to how I convince her otherwise I'd be most gratefull and who knows they may upgrade you to a Bentley! :-))
Cheers,
Phil.

Hey Scott...
Sorry for the all your troubles.
I had a similar problem a month ago, when I wrote about a bad experience with SPIRIT airlines, and some of my readers didn't agree with my point of view.
Anyway... Great post.
