Greetings Mr. Kelby!

I am all registered and eagerly awaiting the 13th! I can't wait to see your seminar in Hartford. While I'm sure you have a maxed out itinerary - keeping in line with those above, I'd invite you to explore my neck of the woods - Litchfield county in CT (Sharon, Lime Rock, Salisbury, Kent, Cornwall in particular). Covered bridges, mountains, lakes, rivers and exploding spring foliage - perhaps cliche, beautiful nonetheless.

Congratulations on the success of the Digital Photography books, I know my copies are well worn. Thank you so much for all you do and your amazing energy and enthusiasm!

Doug

ps. I'm in a chair and have an assistant who travels with me, it never occurred to me, but should I purchase a pass for her too? I don't want her stuck outside. :-)

Scott
Have you seen Sky TV's wedding channel? I happened to run across this after seeing a reference on a Wedding Photographer's blog. He was interviewed at the London Wedding Show.

I agree with ivoryhut about making your way out NYC to Jersey to get some great NYC landscape images. I just threw together some places I have taken shots from using Google Maps. They are more general areas to shoot from. Here is the link...

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=110419928189867387990.00044becc50ddd8a5ca30&ll=40.735551,-74.024162&spn=0.175859,0.4216&z=12

None of these places are more than a few minutes from the city. I am sure you will have a great time no matter where you shoot from. Hope to see you at B&H.

Some of these are admittedly a little cliche but good shots can still be had...

Staten Island Ferry -- a free ride across the harbor and back.

Top of the Rock / 30 Rockefeller Plaza observatory -- last elevator up is at 11 PM

NY water taxi or NY Waterway ferries-- early evening views of Manhattan and surroundings; fees vary

Chinatown and Meatpacking Districts for human-spotting, atmosphere, dining

Hello Scott. I am a fan of your books. The Digital Photography Book in particular was my favorite. Anyway, after reading your blog regarding New York City, I invite you to visit my site for ideas on where to shoot while in town or drop me an email.

Thanks!

Great. Just when I'm in California for the week. Serenity now!!

You could take the ferry over to Hoboken and shoot from the Sinatra park that's on the edge of the Hudson. Great view of the Manhattan skyline, and Hoboken has a bunch of great restaurants and live music.

Speaking of photographing sea creatures... Have you ever tried underwater photography? We know from your blog that you will not ingest anything from the sea, but what about using your amazing camera skills while submerged and then telling us all about it?

Scott:
You should call Jay Maisel and get him to let you shoot from his rooftop in The Bowery. The shots of his I have seen from that locale are very special and he is a great story teller to boot.

Dear Scott, I have an official version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for Windows and when I try to download an update 1.4.1 the website seems to be under maintenance/doesn't come on at all. My colleagues face the same problem since 1.4.1 was released. Could you please advise me on this matter if it is possible? Many thanks. Manuel

If you would like to make a trip to Staten Island, I have my great location for shooting Working Harbor shots and lots of Tugboats...if the tide is right, there could also be a lot of Container ships coming in and out. You can almost reach out and touch the ships at this location. Also at this spot is one of my favorite restaurants, R.H. Tugs, where you can sit outside and photograph while you eat.

Good Morning Everyone! Please check the B&H Event Space website now, Scott's event is live and accepting reservations. Also- we are back from our Passover holiday- so if you have been itching to get your gear fix, B&H is back and ready to serve you.

If you were wondering what a B&H guy does on a 10 day Passover break, I spent it scanning 23 gigs worth of 442 scanned images. So now I have a huge folder of so many images, yes Ill be paying attention to the Light Room class to see how far LR will take this project and when CS3 is going to take over. Can you say wacom tablet and dust editing? Did I mention that ICE wont work with tech pan?

Enjoy NAPP week at B&H- Thanks!
