Now in Bookstores: Photoshop Studio with Bert Monroy; Digital Painting

By Scott on Tuesday, April 29th, 2008 at 5:44 am | updates.

bertbooksm.jpgI finally saw a copy of the most-awaited Photoshop book of the year, Photoshop Studio with Bert Monroy; Digital Painting which just debuted at Photoshop World (I only got a quick look, because as soon as I saw it one of my crew snagged it out of my hands). I saw that the book included some of the digital painting techniques Bert used in creating his amazing panoramic illustration of the Damen Station on the Blue Line of the Chicago Transit Authority, so this weekend I hope to sit down, dig in, and pick up some new goodies. My congratulations to Bert on the new release, and you can get your own copy at Barnes & Noble.com, or Amazon.com, or wherever books from really brilliant digital artists are sold.

Awesome! As soon as I finished Matt Layers I’ll give this a shoot.
Nice is that we still can import books free of tax ;)

      Thanks for the tip Scott.

Bert’s “Damen Station” is truly amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed his video lesson on your KelbyTraining site and am sure this book will be a great read. I’m off to Barnes & Noble at lunchtime today to grab a copy.

I was lucky enough to have Bert do my portfolio review at Photoshop World in Orlando. I gotta say, I was honored to have him looking through my photographs and felt I was on the right course when he looked at the first picture and said ‘whoa’ . . . when Bert says whoa, you can’t even imagine how justified I felt . . . I picked this book up right after that review and have read threw it twice . . . worth more than the cover price . . . way more . . . Glad to see you hyping it . . . :-)

I sure like his work, what skill.

I just returned from Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, and other cities and blogged/photographed (my first blog) my way through the trip.

I took your book 7 points, one more of yours to help me “capture” what I say and wrote a blog about my momma. Title “Throw Momma Off The Boat”

Nice website Paul Kane. That’s another plus for Scott’s blog, we get to see some amazing work from those of us who chime in here & include a link.

I thought Layers was “the most-awaited Photoshop book of the year.” Or maybe that was “the most anticipated Photoshop book of the year.” Or …

I have become a fan of Bert by watching his excellent Pixel Perfect videos (http://revision3.com/pixelperfect/). They perfectly supplement the videos made by those fine, fine guys at Photoshop User TV!
I look forward to getting a copy of his book.

I recently saw Bert at the Photoshop Creativity seminar in Philadelphia, PA., and it was a mind blowing experience. If you get a chance to see him teach live, definitely don’t pass it up.

      Scott -
I agree with keith. If I was your buddy Matt, I’d be little upset you changed you mind so quickly about which book is the most anticipated.
