Hey Scott, Photoshop World Live is up at Kelby Training. I just got done watching half of it tonight. I will finish the rest of it tomorrow. Just wanted to say thank you very much for sharing some of Photoshop World with those of us you have not been able to make it yet. Really liked Corey’s Design Effects can we get some more of those at Kelby Training? You should also know I love Kelby training. It has really helped me advance in Photoshop. I've only been working with Photoshop for a couple of months now and there is still so much for me to learn. Yet, I feel I have come a long ways in such a short time thanks to the Kelby Training team. So I just want to say thank you for taking that extra step to make sure that we the subscribers have the best of the best to learn from. I have been disable for 8 years now. Dreamweaver and Photoshop are the tools that I plan to use to help me stand on my own 2 feet again and earn my own way in the world once more as my parents raised me to do. At first I have to admit I was scared. What if I can not learn these products well enough to make a living? I thought my fears had come true at first with Photoshop. Then I met lesa she sent me to her site for some basic tutorials and I believe she is the one that pointed me towards Kelby Training. Well that was all it took and things started falling into place for me with Photoshop. It stopped being a struggle and started being fun. So again, I would just like to thank you and your Kelby team for going that extra mile in those classes for us. Thank you for not being like the other training programs that care about the bottom dollar first, then the subscribers. Kelby training team is not just providing me with the in-depth knowledge I need for the tools of the trade I have chosen. They have also given me back hope and faith in myself and for my future again. Kelby Training has given me more then you will ever realize. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that.

A faithful subscriber.

Hey Scott,

I wanted to share something with you that I think would be great for you to feature and pass on. My brother, Steve Paterson, one of the founding partners of Clear (www.StartClear.com), a graphics design firm in Southern California, has decided to do something very special to help the victims of China’s recent earthquake. He has started www.FiftyThousandShirts.com. The goal is to sell 50,000 shirts, raising one million dollars (which will be donated through World Vision, www.worldvision.org).

It would be great if you could pass on to your audience the great opportunity that this could be. Also if there is anyway you would be willing to put a banner up or know anyone who would want to you can get them off of this site: http://fiftythousandshirts.com/action/.

One of the sponsors of this effort is http://RedisWhite.com. Red is White is a faith-inspired, ongoing, online t-shirt design project. Anyone can come up with a design and submit it to Red is White. The Red is White community then rates the designs and the winning designs get printed (and the designer gets paid).

I think this definitely seems like something that your audience could get behind.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Looks like a great experience and the video was great. Got one question about the video...Who is the musical artist or group that did the backing track and what is the name of the track? An answer would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

For all those who have never attended, this is a must!!! If I only could go to both the east coast and west coast i would. I am thankful I work for a great company that paid for 3 of us to attend PSW Orlando. I am counting down the days for the return visit to Boston.

The instructors are the best of the best. Who better to learn from than the best! Don't miss out on these events!!! It is so worth every penny!

Hi Scott,

Great blog! I read it every day and I was waiting for something to come up about photoshop world so I could post a question that's been bugging me. I would love to attend a photoshop world conference, however, they're always held everywhere except the midwest. I live about an hour outside of Chicago and was wondering why none have ever been held there or maybe in the surrounding Chicagoland area (if it's a money issue). As you probably know Chicago and the surrounding metropolitan area boast a large array of venues to be able to host this type of conference. One example would be the McCormick place which hosts the largest north american car show every year. I know this venue would be plenty large enough to host a photoshop conference. I would imagine a great turnout. The potential here is enoumous with Chicago being such an international city not to mention centrally located in the U.S. Seeing as you are a guy on the "inside", I would greatly appreciate a small explaination as to why this show couldn't be hosted in what seems to be an obviously overlooked section of the country. Thanks for letting me vent for all us photoshop world deprived midwesterners.

P.S. Have you seen the airfare prices lately?
and no I don't work for the city of Chicago :)

Scott,

Here’s a free endorsement! I’ve been to three Photoshop World’s. The most recent was this last April. If you want to read about my experience, I wrote several blog posts on my site in April. http://www.campphotoshop.com. For anyone who loves Photoshop and hasn’t been, you’ve got to give it a try. It’s a great combination of fun and education.

If people can swing it, I also recommend the Pre-Conference Workshops. I went to a half day workshop last year in Vegas with Laurie Excell. It was the best investment of 4 hours I have made in a long time. It changed the way I use my camera. I ran into Laurie in Orlando this last April and was able to tell her how much I enjoyed her workshop and how it had changed the way I shoot.

So if you’re thinking about attending Photoshop World it’s time to just do it!
