New Training DVD from Fay Sirkis; A Celebration of Art: Weddings, Portraits and Faces!
World renowned Digital Artist (and Photoshop World instructor) Fay Sirkis has just released an in-depth DVD (from KelbyTraining.com) called “A Celebration of Art; Weddings, Portraits and Faces†If you haven’t had the chance to learn from Fay, she’s without a doubt one of the most amazing, passionate, and engaging teachers out there (her sessions at Photoshop World–standing room only, and her pre-conference workshop is always one of the first to sell-out). Her last record-breaking DVD took the digital painting world by storm, so make sure you check out Weddings, Portraits and Faces while they’re still in stock (here’s the link). By the way: NAPP members get $20.00 off.
Besides Photoshop World, you can also catch Fay live at her “Summer Photo Painting Bootcamp” at the prestigious Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging in Los Osos, California, on August 18 thru 22nd. (NAPP members get 15% off there, too!). Here’s the link for info on her bootcamp.

Check out Fay’s name spelling in the headline.
I’m going to order this. Since her first video I’ve been using Painter X for a lot of my portrait work and it’s so worth taking the time.
FYI, I just saved another (approx.) $15 on shipping from B&H, now pushing me well beyond not only my current NAPP membership fee but about paid for 2009’s as well. I would be spending more money if I was not a member.
Thanks
Scott, I have a problem and since you’re my photoshop insider guy…
I have a picture that was made into a retro comic book style ( http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3231/2682756573_074c7f954a_o.jpg )
The bottom two layers (under the text, boxes and so on) are the picture with adjusted saturation and added grain and a layer that was made by duplicating that layer and adding it some halftone pattern and set to darken blend.
and now, it all looks great when I have all the layers in photoshop, but when I try to flatten it and save as jpeg, the whole thing darkens considerably. I suppose it has something to do with the blending of the bottom two layers, but can’t figure out how to make it look the same as before flattening. please help
thanks in advance,
Borna

Hi Scott,
First of all, “THANK YOU” for all you do for photographers and PShop users, It’s because of you that we have a better and more “fun” experience. BTW, my daughter is a new Kelby fan. I got her PSElements 7 and your book on PSElements and she said “this guy just tells you what you need to know…and he is so funny.” I told her, I know, he was my boss!
Scott, did Fay Sirkis finished the Painter DVD on landscapes she spoke about at the PSW in Las Vegas? I can’t find it in the Kelby store of the NAPP website. I couldn’t get near you in Vegas to say hi; you were surrounded by people all the time. I have to tell you that the PSWs get better each time. Much love to all at NAPP, specially to you, Felix and Ronnie. Hope you and your family have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. love, Gina Profitt
