It’s Friday, and time for some crunchy morsels of news:
- First, just a reminder; today is the last day to take advantage of the $100 Off Early Bird Discount for Photoshop World Conference & Expo. Here’s the link. (Hope to see you in Vegas!).
- I’m happy to report that today we have over 113 cities around the world who now have Photo Walks as part of my World Wide Photo Walk event. Click here to see if your city was added in the last two days. Thanks everybody—this is going to rock!
- USA Today’s Jefferson Graham did a video interview with Adobe’s Lightroom Marketing Manager Fred Johnson, and if you’ve got just a minute, click here to check it out.
- Yesterday I saw that Dave Piazza from Westcott is doing a free class at B&H Photo’s ‘Event Space’ at their Manhattan store, on “Portrait Lighting with Daylight Fluorescents.” (Which I’m sure will including the TD-5 Spiderlites. The class is Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Here’s the link.
That’s it for today folks. Have a great weekend, and I’ve got lots of stuff so share next week, so we’ll see you back there then.

Hi,
great list for the photo walk. Are there more cities to come?
Looking for places around Frankfurt and Wiesbaden.
Bye,
Felix
Wow! The list of cities for the upcoming walk is very impressive. I feel like I’ve been given the opportunity to be a part of something really special. Thanks Scott!!!
Whoo Hoo!!!! Boston is added!!! I’m in!
Thanks Scott!!

The Mannyless Boston
I think there’s a duplicate entry for Chicago, IL…unless Charlie Guild is going to do two photo walks in one day like Jeff.
Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this. I can’t imagine how you find the time! Do you sleep at all?!?
Scott,
Just a heads up. Your cities list is truncating the “State” name. So “New Mexico” becomes “New” and “District of Columbia” becomes “District”.
Thanks,
Shaun
Scott (or anyone),
Please let there be a walk somewhere in Connecticut. I would lead one myself but I do not meet the qualifications! Somebody must want to lead one of these is CT!!!
Scott,
I was sad that I was going to miss the walk because I was going to Charlottesville, VA. to visit with friends. Now I am delighted that I am not going to miss the walk because…
Scott- thanks for the shout out on Dave Piazza’s lighting seminar. Its a good one, lots of info gets shared. I thought you would dig this Sunday’s ROCK and ROLL- “How to Photograph a Music Perfomance”- Lenny the instructor and I just hung huge murals up in the event space of Jimi Hendrix playing at Woodstock that he shot. He shared with me the story, amazing, he shows up a the largest cultural movement of this centrury with 1 roll of Tri-X, and 2 rolls of Plus-X and has to budget out the 3 rolls for the duration of the festival. Lenny says he was poor kid who’s dream it was to shoot Jimi playing- and could only scrunge up 3 rolls of film!!!! He passed up shots of Janis Joplin, The Who, Crosby Still Nash… all waiting for Jimi to take over- Amazing- you cant make this stuff up!
Scott,
Bummer! I get swept up in work and preparing to move 3k miles from VA to OR for a few days and miss out on all 50 spots for the Portland walk. Any word if there will be another planned in Oregon?
Thanks!
Scott
Looked through the list and didn’t see Fredericksburg, VA. Just wondering if my info was received.
Thanks for checking
Don
It is great to see all the new cities, just wish this would become a semi-annual event that could tie into photoshop world. I would love to travel to some of these locations. Having a guide to some great local photo locations is the best.
Scott,
Have you or anyone seen this article on the US Boarder Agency seizing your laptop & such? It’s pretty frightening. Hopefully we all can stand up & get this policy overturned. Here’s the link:

It was also in PC World.
