I know this post is really old but it seemed relevant to tell you about a new iPhone app I found that is going to ROCK for photowalks. I remember that intro and thought it was funny too & a great idea. As many authors use the Intro section to inform readers they need to turn the pages from right to left or thank their dog. Scott actually puts useful info in those few pages including links.

Your post really made me smile

I’ve recently purchased both “The 7 Point System” and “CS3 for Photographers” by Scott and in the hidden-introduction-masquerading-as-chapter-1 section he talks about how no one bothers to read the introduction anymore and how when they can’t understand the book, or where to find the files they end up hating him for life and sending rude emails (typical Scott Kelby humor I know, but prophetic none the less!)

@Scott: Thanks for two great books, the “7 Seven Point System” really helped the whole process click for me. It also brought me to the realisation that pro-level work can be achieved by anyone – it’s not such a dark art after all.

Hi Scott, People here from Fort Lauderdale (South Florida) are very excited with this Worldwide Photowalk.
I just wrote a Post on my Blog giving some tips to City Leaders and Photographers on how you can enjoy and improove your photowalk experience.

There I explain few things that the City leader can do to help his or her group (not just fro this Photowalk, but for future ones also).
Anyway… I can’t wait to meet all the other photographers Saturday.

Please add Long Beach, CA next time. (We have tons of good photo locations and had a qualified leader who applied — twice — but we got zero responses from the organizers this time.) Personally, I had hoped for a Southern Calif location close enough for me to participate (disabled photographer here), but it was not to be this time around. Maybe next time — I hope! Meantime, I look forward to seeing photos from everyone who is able to participate.

I know in many of Kelbys (and others) books there’s a website listed in the first couple of pages of the Intro section. Yep, you’ll need to take a close look for the website link. Or just do a quick google & I found the download site http://www.kelbytraining.com/7pointphotos/

As for the lack of response, I’m guessing Scott doesn’t sit and watch all of our posts. But I could be wrong though. Nor is the book totally worthless without the downloads – you can practice on your very own photos.

Second request without a response -
Bought 7 Point System – it is based on downloading pictures to follow along. There is NO reference to where these downloads are located. This make the book worthless.

How about a response!
