Get on that plane, Ed. There is a $100 rebate on the P-6000 at B&H setting the price at $435. The P-7000 is still $698.

My P2000 worked for about two years then died. Wont recognize battery. Wont recognize new battery. Now it is a door stop, a very expensive door stop.

The Epson P7000 is stupidly overpriced.

So, now I'm looking to purchase a Sanho Hyperdrive UDMA as it is a fraction of the Epson cost AND this is super trick -- you can plug in an external drive and make a copy to that! So, you eliminate the single point of failure. Sweeeeetnesss!

There is a firmware update for the P6000/7000 that tethers the output to the P6000/7000 and leaves the image on the the camera's media card. Works with my Nikon D70 and Niion D200 and newer dSLRs.

Am I missing something ?

What's the resolution ?
( As in : WHAT'S THE RESOLUTION ! ? ! ? )

All the 'flower-language' in the world don't convince me,
all reviews can rave on about "gorgeous" display, I'm still sober-minded.

At $800.- ( YIKES !! ), I'm not even shure there exists a little 4" display in universe
I'd consider worth the money. At the very least I expect Full HD resolution ( 1080X1920 )
- which must be , eh , 'demanding' on a 4 inch screen. What's all the fuzz about 16,8 million colors ? Mobile phoes at a third of the price have had that for half a decade ? YES! Those had much smaller displays with simple QVGA res. but still...

Hi. I like the HP 1100 tablet pc. I can get them for about $300 on ebay. They're small for a laptop, but great for photo viewing. I can plug as many small external hard drives as I need into one of its usb ports, as well as a small cf card reader to extract the photos. the 1100 comes with a 40gb drive and windows xp pro. I love it.

Hi Matt,
I don't think 40g is enough. Also I would like to do double backup and having only one device doesn't solve that problem.
I currently have the P2000 and am thinking of getting a newer model but what I want is something that will copy the files to 2 portable USB HDs that will power off the unit. Maybe 120 gig units so one only has to take 2 of each item for secure backup.

Awesome review but the price is a bit daunting. Would love to know what are the P series main competitors that you would also recommend?
