It’s “Lame Blogger” Wednesday

I totally messed up, and didn’t have anyone lined up for today as a guest blogger, so sadly what you’re now experiencing is “Lame Blogger Wednesday.” (Finding and coordinating a guest blogger each week may actually be more work than when I used to blog on Wednesdays. How I long for those days. ;-).
Anyway, I’ll get right on making sure I’ve got somebody lined up for next week, but in the meantime, we’re all stuck with Lame Blogger Wednesday. I know. It stinks.

We forgive you! =)
Especially after yesterdays PhotoshopuserTV and the extra material from Mpix. Thank you!
Scott,
Why don’t you just pick one of your readers to blog each Wednesday (a different person each week of course) They can blog about their experience and/or knowledge and we can all learn from each other. I guess you would need watch who you pick, and edit the material if needed but I think we all know your readers are good people. I don’t think you would have a problem. Might just eliminate the hassle of going out and finding someone every week. Just a thought…
Best Regards,
Dave
You have a very good excuse with Photoshop World and all that. I look forward to see who you bring in next week.
I back dave’s idea.
However, that silhouette does look familiar.

I kinda like “lame blogger”, make him a regular.
P.S. Hey, doesn’t that look like Matt Kloskowski’s silouette.:)
Who is Lame Blogger? I googled the name, but can’t seem to find any of his work… Must be French. Is it pronounced Lah-May Blow-Hair?
No, Matt’s silhouette is much more handsome then that.
Just blame Larry Becker…
I want to hear about his revenge that will surely happen in your office after your hilarious comments you wrote behind his back at Photoshop World.
That was classic!!
Fantastic Photoshop World, Scott!! It was well worth the 36 hours in a plane to get there…but, I sure am tired…
Cheers,

Hi Scott,
That is fine, everyone needs a day off. You do allot, between being a father, husband, photoshop Guru, band keyboardist, and handling little Shetland pony’s (LOL) . Im sure the list goes on and on.
Enjoy the day, kick up your feet and relax..
Glenn
No need to be so hard on yourself. You should probably go back to No Blog Wednesdays and then every so often throw in a Guest Blog Easter Egg.
I realize that you are a very driven man and feel an obligation to provide something every weekday, but I don’t think that there is one person who would fault you for taking a day off! Just remember, a healthy, well rested Scott is better than no Scott at all (and I don’t mean no Scott for one day a week).
Enjoy the fruits of your labor a little more. I didn’t hear an outcry about you not doing the Letter from the Editor in the September Photoshop User Magazine, so don’t worry about us so much. We are big boys and girls, we will survive.
Scott,
Could you give us a book update in place of the absent guest blogger? I see two different dates showing up depending on which website I view. September 11 or 21….. Will I be reading a new book this weekend??!!
We all know by now that Shetland Pony’s require special attention, especially mid week. So how about this:
Maybe you could arrange for Dave Cross to give dance lesson’s on Wednesdays and then to fill in once and awhile Matt K can demonstrate how real men, do have feelings and then Larry can just bring us up on the latest office gossip
Enjoy
Hello, Scott Kelby.
I hope you get to read this post. You’d do yourself and your vast readership a great service by blogging LESS. Imagine the rest you’d receive, the freshness you could bring to the table, and the life you’d be able to enjoy away from the blog.
If you continuously give us so much of yourself you may run out sooner than if you provided fewer, albeit substantial updates. Certainly you’d be missed, but your work would not cease to be effective, appreciated, and consumed.
Give it a thought!
Scott
It might be a good idea for every second week or so to send folks off to anther blog. Just to remind them about some other blogs that are out there.
Now i could use this opportunity to tell people about my blog, http://www.alanhessphotography.com, but I would mention Vincent Laforets blog at http://blog.vincentlaforet.com/
It has some great stuff, especially if you want an inside look at shooting during the 2008 Olympics.
Hi Scott,
I think Dave’s idea is really good. Just ask us (the readers) to send in a blog entry and then if you think one of them is good enough theN use it on your guest blog slot. It will be interesting reading the point of view of an amateur or enthusiast and they can say what they find useful in their photographic life.
I bet you’d get hundreds!!

Well, for anyone who wants to read a first-timer’s impression of Photoshop World, check out my blog!

I would vote on taking the day off or having a once a month guess blogger. Take some time off!
Mike
Scott,
I like Dave’s comment above.
Frankly I don’t know how you write some much Scott. And when I say so much I mean so much that is interesting and relevant. I’d be very excited to be a guest blogger and help you out at the same time. I really own you. You’ve give so much to those of us who love Photoshop.
Anyway, I made a slightly less lame blog post (you be the judge) today on my site for anyone needing a Photoshop blog fix. http://campphotoshop.com/Excitement-4-Photoshop-CS4
Nice Blog article Roger, I totally agree.
I know what you mean Scott. I deal with the same problem getting guests for Pro Photo Show.

Don’t sweat it.. the blog is a privilege to read, and not our ‘right’ to expect… Go enjoy your day off…
I absolutely agree with Rich, however, I was very sad
I had to take the day off just to mourn properly.
Actually, you wanna talk about lame, what a Laaaame comment! (hehehe)
Your post today only proves your human too. Hopefully see you in Boston!

What a depressing week. First, Tom Brady goes down and is out for the year, the Sox lose in the 9th and now this…NO BLOG?..totally unacceptable.
Naturally I am kidding…
Attended a seminar on Monday with the one and only Joe McNally, did you guys withold his food in Vegas? He looks awfully skinny.
That guy totally rocks!

Hi Scott,
Without your blog I went looking for something else to fill my usual blogfull mornings. I found this video at CNN.com. Pretty interesting.

Scott,
My first reaction was to say the same thing as Dave above, but I do have a modification to it that may help you narrow down the list of people to choose from. Why don’t you solicit blog entries from your photo walk leaders. Since you have all of those wonderful photos, the leaders can talk about why they picked the location that they did, why they chose the winning photo for their area and anything else that comes to mind.

i was longing for this weeks guest blogger but it’s ok…you’re excused for this week. But maybe next time if you have some difficulty in finding a guest blogger i think we all the readers will somehow find it easy to get through if you just give us some interesting information, some tips on photography or photoshop or something….just an idea.
good day Scott
Bah! So what?
It’s not like we pay to visit your site daily.
I say, take a break once in a while. You seem to work too much.
I just clicked over from Matt’s site, where I apologized for leaving him another lame question. I guess it’s lame blogger day for everyone.
I wish I had a video of your typography class from last week, because I keep trying to remember your little tricks (didn’t you show how to scroll through various fonts without the text being highlighted?). I have a blog title with not one, but two taglines and I keep thinking, “How would Scott do this layout?” Whew!
Enjoy your day off. Glad you decided not to stress and post something yourself.
To be honest, I come to your blog to read your stuff, not “guests” so to me Wednesday is the day I read what ever I passed from the days before instead of the “guest blog day”.
Scott-
Yeah, you deserve a day off!
I do like the idea of the guest blogger but that actually could mean more work for you…since the submissions would need review and possible rewrite/revision, etc. Some of us (I include myself, as a freelance writer, (google “Richard Chan +Spokesman-Review”) might even get befuddled if something gets axed or a gag isn’t appreciated…that said, it’d be fun to write about being a newbie (an old newbie, for that matter) and all the stupid stuff I keep doing and doing and doing.. PS Thanks for the tip to remove the lens cap in vol 2 of Digital Photography…I”m not the only one, after all!
Anyway, enjoy the time off!
Here’s a vote for guest blogger: Scott Hargis from the real estate lighting workshops. I took his class in Seattle and I know he’s got a lot of great information that I think would work well in a blog.
My two cents…
Even though I love the guest blog wednesdays with “real” guest bloggers, I think there is absolutely no reason for you to apologize. My opinion. I wonder anyway how you word it out to reconcile all your activitys, even if you have assisting staff. Maybe you have found the secret formula how to extend the 24h a day limit?
Scott, keep on the good work, I’ll visit this site everyday, even on lame blogger wednesdays :-).
Regards
Uwe
HAHA Scott why does the Lame blogger looks like a silhouette of Matt!

Scott,
On days like this, you could just point us to a blog you follow. I’d love to know what blogs you follow regularly. I’d be stoked if the post was as simple as:
Here’s a great blog I follow, you should enjoy it too:
http://blog.chasejarvis.com/blog/
Or if you said, “Listen you spoiled blog stalkers, i’m takin’ the day off.”
We’d be happy either way. Thanks for all you do.

Hi Scott,
I am a bit late with my response, because I was on vacation.
Blogging should never be an obligation, neither should finding a guest blogger be.
Have a nice Sunday.
