Is it because i am using the Educational version? if not, what would be the reason? thank you so much for your help Ed Hello Everyone,

I also started using a LaCie rugged drive to store all my photos recently - they're supposed to be great, so i find it hard to believe that could have contributed, but if anyone else has had that experience, i'd appreciate your take! I tried Lightroom in Beta version last year and decided I would stay with Photoshop. Then Lightroom 2 was released and all the buzz seemed to say it is great and the new features seemed to address things I had found lacking. Then I read a comment posted today and it talks about crashing, etc. I understand Lightroom doesn't replace Photoshop but I would like a faster method of organizing, and developing the majority of photos that don't need special attention in Photoshop. Are you now favoring Lightroom over Bridge, Camera Raw and Photoshop for those tasks? Of course, that is today's question, tomorrow it will probably all change with Adobe's pending announcement on Photoshop. The more I read the more confused I get.
