Same question as above regarding the difference between Lightroom vs. Elements - I'm having major CPU issues with the Lightroom 2 trial version (using the adjustment brush) and wondering if I should go the way of Elements instead - cheaper and haven't heard of any issues re CPU... Outside of organizing the photos, is the "tweaking" effect the same output/quality as Lightroom or is Lightroom definately better?

Hi Scott,
I just watched your video "Lightroom Vs. Photoshop", and have a question for you:
What about Lightromm vs Elements...? I am currently using Elements 6 and am trying LR 2, and it is more expensive than Elements, so I am wondering it it is worth it, being just an amateur....

Cheers,

I love Lightroom 2, many of the effects I like can be acheived easier with lightroom than photoshop. - I find myself using photoshop to clean my sets of images do compositions, save as a tif and import them into lightroom for colour effects etc, the thing that lightroom offers is the ability to copy develop settings and paste onto the whole set of the other similar images.

I have seen that photoshop CS4 now has a vibrance adjustment layer, but hey all the adjustments are not as easy as working your way down the develop panel...

One thing I have seen in photoshop CS4 that I will not be happy with and that it the change of the cmd - 1,2,3,4 for channels, and also using cmd 1,2,3 etc does NOT change the channels in the curves or levels dialogs, thats gonna slow my working, and thats gonna be annoying!!

I do lUUUURVE the fact you can interactively drag out the brush size (quantel did this years ago)

great video guys, great format, 2 guys talking about software, maybe more useful than a show with tutorials — give us an insight to what is going on in the industry. - you guys should film your lunch breaks at NAPP HQ

Slow loading video. I guess everyone's watching it :) You guys get it as usual however.

People always want to compare the two. It's natural I guess, but it's kinda like saying "Whats's better a motorcycle or a car" I say their two separate animals. As for the bridge, it's basically a souped up image browser to me. It's the skateboard, not the motorcycle or the car.

With Lightroom I can process thousands of images REALLY FAST. Presets have a lot to do with that, but it's just a good interface for speed editing. With PS I can do those final touches and moods that LR can't touch. Actions speed things up, but your still opening and closing files one at a time.

Testimonial from an actual customer:
"Every since I made the switch to Lightroom 2, my who life changed. Now, girls talk to me more, my acne went away, and I've actually been able to re-grow hair. Now I can go to the beach with confidence and not feel uncomfortable about people commenting behind my back, "I bet that guy still uses Bridge." With LR2 if feel like I have a whole new lease on life- even my dog came home! Thank you Lightroom 2!"
