Hey, Scott, I sent a message earlier about the lightroom book that hadn't made its way to me.
But to my suprise it was in the mail today. How did you do that?
(of course) I shoulda waited another day to ask... Oh, well, now I got the weekend to read it.

Thanks,
Dan

To Bryan:
Rats----I wish I had a photo of the shoot. I'll check with RC to see if he has one, but I did use a Elinchrom 72" Octabank on a boom arm. For the shot you see here, I had it placed directly over the car on a boom (with RC hanging onto that lightstand with all his might, because we didn't want it to fall over and scratch Tommy's car.

It was taken with a Nikon D300, at f/5.6 at 1/250 of a second at ISO 200. I shot in Manual mode (which I always do when using strobes), and it was shot with my 17-55mm lens, out wide at 17mm.

I did run the LucisArt plug-in on the photo to make the ground look really gritty, but I mostly removed the effect on the car (it looked too gritty), but left it on the tires and wheels. I did a bit of dodging and burning in Photoshop to lighten some areas, and darken others. Plus, I sharpened the living daylights out of it.

Hope that helps (in the meantime, I'll check with RC for a set-up shot just in case). :)

Hi Scott,

It's good to hear of all the new filming and post-production sessions of online class at KelbyTraining.com. I have a question in relation to releasing of such classes...... Ever since day one you have been advertising that you have 4 or 5 classes with Ben Willmore. You have even been promoting in the coming next column (for at least the last year) you have had "Tonal Adjustment in Photoshop" - Ben Willmore.
What's up with that?????
