Just Released: Joe McNally’s Online Class at Kelby Training, “Light Shaping Tools, Part 2″
Here’s Joe like you’ve never seen him before, ‘runnin’ and gunnin,’ with on-location small flash, in this very cute teaser for his new “Light Shaping Tools, part 2″ online class at KelbyTraining.com. In his class, he shares his thought process for lighting and shooting in a mix of indoor and outdoor locations with small off-camera flash (after you watch the short video—and you gotta watch the video–here’s the link to his class, and the full course outline).

That video was funny! Fastest trigger finger in the west! PS… I LOVE kelbytraining.com… seriously, I just cannot get enough. Money well spent. Thanks for putting together such a great site!
Beautiful video! Never mock a Nikon!
Made me smile. I’ll take a look at your training vids.
as a television director (and photographer) I gotta hand it to you guys: very professional job!!
original angle for a promo.
but most importantly: it made me laugh! Joe ‘triggerfinger’ McNally!! hahaha!o)
i can’t wait to see te sequel! (or trequel?)
Love Joe’s classes, and this one is no exception. Very cool indeed! Thanks Kelby Training gang!
9 shots per second….. cant compete with that
Great video!!!
Brilliant!! I’d love to publish that in my blog if I could Scott….Thanks in advance…
I think McNally has a second career in comedy if the picture thing doesn’t qork out… Instead of Cheech & Chong it’ll be McNally and Kelby. Thanks for making it all so fun!
You guys crack me up!
Classic! You guys kill me.
Great promo video, very funny. I have to say I really love Joe’s sense of humour.
Scott – Does Kelby training ever plan to release some of the photography training as a DVD to purchase? It would be great to be able to watch it on a bigger screen.
Scott Wiggins
Classic stuff guys!! Love it!
The twitchy finger on the shutter is awesome!
The marketing worked, I am going to go out and watch the full video!!
Tom Miller
Note to others: Please don’t bring a Nikon to a real gunfight. (you know someone had to say it)
I presume there will be a sequel featuring Scott but with a 30’s gangster twist ? You know, Machine Gun Kelby ?
Very funny spot but shouldn’t there have been a SB-800/900 in it gunning those gents down? (you know, with a snoot or something attached) Anyway, I have meant to join Kelby training for a while now. I really need to do it, I would love to watch Joe in action for a week to let my brain soak in all I could. Thanks for all the great info Scott!!
Very inventive spot! I can’t wait to watch the class….
Thanks,
Jarrod
You guys are the best! Scott and Joe are my two favorites photoguys out there. Great course but in to short sequences for my taste. I would really like some longer.
That was just plain hysterical. Viva Joe McNally!
Are you funnin’ me, bub? That’s the old nine frame, five second shoot-out. I’ve heard about that.
scott,
i watched the training and love it. well done, and entertaining, as always with joe. one little hint however: you refer to the class as “on location with small off-camera flashes”. well, i wouldn’t exactly call 2 octo banks with 1200 ws rangers “small” flashes, but you’re right: they are indeed “off camera”.
hi gang,
Stephan is correct. When we originally planned this class it was going to be a part two… it’s been a while since we shot it so i was going off the original notes. It is supposed to be “Off Camera Flash.”
scriv, video guy.
