Photoshop Insider “Friday News Nuggets”
Oct. 31
12:00 am

Happy Halloween everybody!!! Here’s some quick news nuggets:
- If you’re in New York this weekend, check this out; Jay Maisel is giving his incredible talk on “Light, Color, and Gesture” at 1:00 pm on Sunday, Novemember 2nd, at B&H Photo’s Event Space, in their Headquarters at 420 9th Ave. in New York City. The talk is free, but space is very limited. More info here.
- Matt and I have been “gently teasing” (wink) our Photoshop User TV co-host and good friend Dave Cross, because he’s uses the Bridge rather than Lightroom. We’re totally (mostly) kidding him, but he got us back this week by creating a “Bridge Rocks” t-shirt for Adobe Bridge users that is actually very cool (that’s it shown above), and best of all; you can actually order one yourself through Cafe Press. Here’s the link to Dave’s daily blog with more info (while you’re there, make sure you check out some of the stuff Dave’s been posting lately, including his popular “Finish the Sentence…” series, with his latest interview from David Hobby).
- The voting is done, and on November 3rd we’ll be announcing the winners of the “The iPhone Book, iPhone Photo Contest” While you’re in the ‘iPhone” mood, if you bought my new book, “The iPhone Book” (co-authored with iPhone guru Terry White) at Barnes & Noble.com or Amazon.com, it wouldn’t hurt our feelings one bit (it’s as cheap at $16—perfect Holiday gift, eh?) By the way; don’t forget Friday is “iPhone App of the Week” day at Terry’s Tech Blog (here’s the link to that).
That’s it for today folks, have a safe Halloween—hope you get lots of yummy snacks, and we’ll see you back here on Monday. -Scott

I thought the “Br” stood for “Bathroom”.
Happy Halloween!
That shirt Ro Ck S!
Hello Scott
Sorry to reach you this way, but I can’t get in touch with anyone from the staff organizing the Photowalk event. I’ve tried every e-mail I’ve received information from during that period with but no answer was received.
My problem is that I have never received my prize book as a walk organizer (LISBOA, PORTUGAL), nevertheless I’ve sent my address details.
Is there anything you can do to sort out this problem?
Thanks in advance
Fernando Almeida
Hi Scott,
I think you should counter that with a Lr 2.0 Rocks. The gray sleeves with the gray Lr logo would look awesome
.
Hi Fernando,
If you haven’t received your book yet, it’s probably because we don’t have your phone number, Fed Ex requires a residential phone number for international shipments.
Please re-send your name address and phone # to Nmasse(at)Kelbymediagroup(dot)com and I’ll make sure this gets taken care of. =)
I just took this workshop with Jay during the photo expo at Jacob Javits center and it was such a great experience! he truely is amazing and shows you how to look at subjects in so many different ways. You will never take an ordinary photo again. He teaches you to move and take your photos from different angles.. I always thought it was easier said than done, but when you see his examples, you will finally understand the meaning of that. so i now move and take photos from angles i normally would not.
It was an honor taking his workshop!
have a great weekend!
happy shooting
Scott,
That’s all well and good with the Bridge Rocks Tees, but I ain’t biting. On the other hand, how about getting Dave back with some “Lr Rocks” tees?
Make mine a 3XLT, please. Seriously. If you make ‘em, I’ll certainly pick one up.
Have a great weekend,
regards,
-Ade
Proud Bridge user here.
hey scott,
i saw the bonus video from your new iphone book and i was so glad i bought the book!
just wanted to share – i bought the belkin travel adapter because of terry’s blog post a couple of months ago and it is probably one of the most useful things i got especially for travelling.
while on the topic of iphone, i wanted to share a couple of things –
i use the power support anti-glare screen protectors and they are great! they dont have the smudges that you see in the glossy display of the iphone so i dont need to wipe them often. there are 2 versions of the screen protector. i tried both of them and the glossy one just attracts smudges and fingerprints a lot. anti-glare one is the way to go..
the power support air jacket (crystal case) is also a nice slim case for the iphone. it’s very minimalistic and stays true to your iphone’s design. people often ask me if i have a case for my iphone and they’re jealous of the case i have whenever they see it!
ps – because of your review, i bought the full version of labyrinth, and now, i can’t sleep because i’m addicted to it!
mike
Thanks for your nice blog
