Even Lightroom Needs a Power Nap Every Now and Then...

Some Lightroom 2 users, especially Web Gallery developers, need to restart frequently to keep performance up. This script makes the restart process even quicker.

I enjoyed the link to Arron's Photoshop video. He charges $250.00 bucks to learn his advanced photoshop skills for one month tutoring (way too expensive for me). I wish NAPP would do tutorial videos like that and not the dumb quickies they do, like to make a frame or add a texture to an image. How about some advanced stuff for NAPP members from end to end like this video?

I was intrigued by the sketched our notes above! I already saw a few answers to some of my questions just in that one graphic.

For those of us that are no where near one of your LR2 Tour stops (and reeeaaally wish they could go!!!), would you say that your LR2 book covers the same practical material? If so, I'm running out to get one asap!

Thanks Scott for your continual giving into this community.

Scott I attended the Dallas Lightroom session.Loved it. I am looking to get the Westcott lights you recommend to shoot newbors and babies at their homes. I spoke to the Westcot folks and the person I spoke to recommended the halos instead of the soft box. what would the difference be and why do you prefer the soft box? Thanks.

I was disappointed when I scrolled down the page of winners in the I-Phone
contest to "fine art." It's always interesting to see how just plain old pornography somehow gets described as "fine art" when it's presented to the public in the "art" world. Nudity, and somehow it's usually of women, is still offensive no matter what the venue. Of all the photos you must have received, I was sorry to see you go this route. I was hoping for something better of you.

"Dewitt Jones is the winner? Come on–I mean I’m sure the contest was open to anyone, but he’s a pretty big time pro! Plus that photo was recently in his Outdoor Photographer column."

Is that true? That kinda sucks... I won the office category prize, and I did think that Jones's picture was super amazing... I guess the big time pro wanted to play with the little guys.. :).. something like the Seinfeld show, where "Kramer" is the best in his Karate class - young kids. lol.

I suppose I should be mostly disappointed that he entered at all. Pros who make a living at photography should consider the vagaries of gallery owners, editors, stock photo markets, art fair weather, etc. as contest enough. Leave these little things to people with day jobs.
