The “Photoshop Seven-Point System” Gets its Own Before/After flickr Group
A number of people have emailed (or posted here on the blog), that we should have a flickr group where people can upload their before/after photos after they’ve used my “Photoshop Seven Point System.” Well, you got it! Here’s the link to the flickr group, and there are already people posting their before/after images to it. If you’ve done some, I invite you to join in (it’s open to any one using “The System”). Here’s the link.

great idea, scott! i’ll post some of my before/after shots there.
It’s a great idea for a Flickr group like this. I already mentioned it in a review I did of your book on my site. I have a few before and afters I will upload to the group soon.

It is obvious by looking at some images that subtlety goes a long way. Others, the user has grasped your book and made some good looking images.
Scott,
I hope you or someone else can help with this. I’m using Lightroom and Photoshop CS3 to work through your 7-point system. However, when I import your RAW files into Lightroom on my Mac, they don’t appear as flat and lifeless as they might in their folder or in your book. I am able to reset the RAW file so I can then work through the system, but is there a way to import the files so they look like your originals in the book?
Thanks!
Eric
Great idea Scott. Hope to get my images posted soon.
Cheers!

Hello Scott !!
already registered and photos uploaded
Cheers
Well done Scott Cowlin
Great idea for a group – I’ve posted a query on the flickr group discussion forum better integration of Lightroom into the 7 point system. I know you mention right up front in the book to swap references to Camera Raw for Lightroom – however by the second/third chapter this already goes awry (there’s a fine old fashioned word) when you reference opening files in Smart Objects mode.
You may have already addressed this Scott and apologies if you have – I’m lazy I know blah de blah de blah.
Thanks sznerchu! We also found this little nifty little widget called flickrSlidr that lets us display all the photos shared on our website. Check it out here http://www.peachpit.com/promotions/promotion.aspx?promo=136135&redir=1&rl=1
Pretty cool.
