Hey! I just wanted to thank you for posting this. I just finished Bert’s book on his digital workshop in digital painting and it was an immeasurable help in creating objects from scratch and composing light in a scene accurately and with detail… I highly suggest it to anyone thinking of stepping up their expertise.

Although calling Bert a “digital artist” is an accurate statement, it may not be sufficient for those who are not familiar with his work. It must be emphasized that, “THESE IMAGES ARE NOT PHOTOGRAPHS”.

Last year I spend a couple of days following one of Bert’s outstanding tutorials in an attempt to duplicate a tiny portion of one of his images. Eventually I fried my brain and gave up in frustration; however, I now have a much greater appreciation of his fantastic skill.

Kudos to Bert. I’ve loved his work since the SuperPaint days of old. Bert always has a smile for everyone, is an excellent teacher and one hell of an artist. I wish I could make it out to SFO to see his work.
