Quote of the Week
Last week, my buddy (and Photoshop Web guru) RC Concepcion was the guest on Dave Cross’ blog’s popular “Finish the Sentence” feature (here’s the link). Anyway, in his response to the question, “I hate the fact that Photoshop…” RC had a really great answer (you’ll have to check out Dave’s blog to read his entire answer), but at the end of his answer, he had what I think was the quote of the week:
“As much as I love the program… It’s Photoshop. School will be open on its birthday!”
Well said RC. Make sure you read the whole thing (link above) and it will make more sense, but that quote kinda stands on its own.

Ha, yea, it was a good “Finish the sentance”…
Hi there… I couldn’t find your email Scott so I just have to post this question here. Did you change your site’s rss feed or something? When I checked my google reader this morning it was full of spam (comments) from this site. I’m not saying that I don’t want to read your readers comments but they just clutter my reader.
But I personally hate the fact that Photoshop has given photographers the reputation of putting more effort into digitally manipulate they’re images than actually taking them. Just one example. Last new years eve I indended to take a great fireworks image. I had planned the spot I was going to be taking from, the lens I was going to use e.t.c.. I had even contacted the manager of the fireworks show to get info about where they where going to be lunching the fireworks from. I got my image and it looked great. Only post processing was to crop from 2:3 to 3:4 and bit of wb adjustment in Lightroom and then bit of sharpening in PS. Then when I showed it to people one comment I got was that I was really good at Photoshop. I hate comments like that. I hate the fact that some people think that my images are created in photoshop.
Hey Scott, Dave, RC,
Great finish the sentence. I woke up this morning tired eyed and not wanting to come to work at all, but I dragged myself here anyway. Like every morning when I woke up and set myself in front of SportsCenter with my laptop sitting on my lap, I found my way to your blog. I clicked over to Dave’s blog using the link you provided, but decided it was too long and I was too tired. When I got to work I went back to read it. The blog ended perfectly;
“Wake up every morning giving thanks, and looking forward to the things you ‘get’ to do, rather than the things you ‘have’ to do.”
Thanks,
Mike
I have to say I have the greatest respect for RC. He has inspired me for years with his incisive tutorials and smooth style. His, “Take a look”, is the best! There are many people down here in Australia just waiting with baited breath for RC to do a tour down under. If you are responsible for employing this man then we dip our lids to you, Mr Kelby.
