This just in: our new weekly show for Nikon DSLR users is now available as a free video Podcast on Apple’s iTunes (here’s the link). Now you can watch it on your iPod, iTouch, etc. or from right within iTunes itself. Whoo Hoo!

Thanks guys. Already put it into iTunes and my iPhone. Works perfect.
Would LOVE a Canon DSLR show also. I know you are a Nikon guy, but someone on staff needs to be a Canon shooter?
Thanks for everything you do, love Kelby training!
Another fine group of folks not recognizing that there are other brands of cameras
Jeff
You are welcome to start your own (presumably Canon) oriented show. I’m sure Scott would put a link to it once it is running.
Actually I shoot Olympus Equipment

Very excited to check this out. Unfortunately iTunes is throwing up error 8006 and won’t download.
“There was a problem downloading (name of podcast). An unknown error occurred (8006). Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again.”
I searched for the meaning of error 8006 and only found other people complaining about it without any answers.
I dont see that error number in itunes (might not be looking in the right place), but it definitely is NOT downloading for me in itunes.
If you click on the exclamation point on the left of the episode in your Podcast folder you should see the error message about the unknown error 8006. Hope it gets sorted soon. Great idea by the way, and as someone with a Ninkon D300 and a Canon 5DMkII I’d also love to see a Canon version
Great show.
Although I’m a Canon user, I enjoyed it very much.
Keep up the great work guys.
Hi Scott-
This is an off-topic post, but I thought you’d enjoy this. There’s been a bit of buzz here in Washington D.C. about the new White House photographer. The Washington Post just did a feature article on him and I thought I’d share it with you.

He also has his own website at http://www.petesouza.com/
Maybe you could ask him to be a guest blogger!
Keep up the great work!

Loved the show although the end was cut off… I’ll have to try iTunes even though I think it was only a couple of seconds missing.
For those whining that it’s just Nikon, that’s because Nikon is supporting it. Nikon has always supported the talents of its users and made that an integrated part of its promotional efforts. Canon has always taken a typical top-down, corporate approach. I’m not saying that’s wrong, but don’t whine to Scott because he’s a Nikon shooter and Nikon supports him for that… in fact, whine to Canon because they aren’t supporting you!
Oh… and if you are shooting other than Nikon or Canon, the reason nobody is doing a show with your equipment is because a) it doesn’t have the market share; and b) the money you saved on purchase price is the gravy that big 2 use to pay for promotions like this.
I’m also a Canon shooter. I just close my ears when I hear Nikon. Since Nik also has control points I don’t have to use Capture Nx2 to do what Matt did.
Please do a lot of stuff thats not all Nikon specific!
I love you guys
Debbi
I love Kelby’s stuff, except for when he is banging on about Nikon gear again..
So no thanks not interested. Keep it to Canon/Nikon at least, or even better, cover photography without plugging brands so much and limiting the learning to a single brand specific tools. (Obviously I’m a Canon shooter).
I really am baffled at how angry/upset some of you are about Scott being involved in this show. He uses Nikon + Nikon sponsors the show = It’s a Nikon show. It would take Canon’s support and a Canon shooter to make a Canon show. Scott is neither Canon or a Canon shooter. What do you guys want him to do? He can’t give *camera specific* tips for cameras he doesn’t use and even if he were to stoop to that (which he wouldn’t) he would still need Canon’s sponsorship to make it happen.
If there was a show called “Windows Computer Tips: brought to you by Microsoft” and hosted by Bill Gates, would you be complaining to Bill that he’s not covering Apple stuff? Sheesh.
Right on!!!!
Thank you.
I think what rubs people (non -Nikon shooters) the wrong way about this, is typically this site is about photoshop and creativity, not about equipment. It better that way. DP review has cornered the market on somewhat annoying “my camera brand is better than your camera brand” posts. Part of the appeal of this site is that it was more brand agnostic.
So now you have a post here that for a certain % of readers is useless. Its similar to the D3x post and reaction.
The blog is a cross between “Scott’s personal blog” and “Adobe phtotshop/lightroom” stuff.
In my experience there is very very very little Dslr system x can do that systen y can’t do. (As someone who shot sports pretty well in the early 90s with manual focus and film….) Actually point w from this weeks guest blogger, Syl Arena makes that clear,

2. You are NOT defined by your photo gear or your computer’s operating system.
Nikon vs. Canon, Mac vs. PC. Truth be told… none of this matters to anybody other than the people who sell this stuff. Nobody will look at your photographs and shout “Yep, that guy’s a Nikon shooter on a PC. It just shows.” If you’re a hardcore Nikonian or Canonite, loosen up, trade cameras with a colleague, and go make some great photographs with another brand. Come to understand that your images are reflections of you as a human and not the machines you used to create them.
Great podcast. Really good information, and quick tips. Only complaint I have about the production of this is the really artificial (green screen) background of the “studio”. I think that the studio portion would look just fine being shot in an office or other open area location as opposed to using a green screen. I dont think the artificial background matches with the other high production standards of the rest of the podcast. Overall, I think the podcast is great and I am looking forward to the next installment.
I really enjoyed the podcast. Even though it’s Nikon specific the advise given can be used by the Canon kids(myself included). Just see what they do, see if there is something similar, and adjust. Maybe later on a Canontown podcast can happen with someone on the staff that shoots canon, until then just adapt:-)
