Official Worldwide Photo Walk T-Shirts To Support Orphanage
When we started planning this year’s walk, I had a meeting with my staff about finding a way to use this worldwide event to help feed the children at the Springs of Hope Kenya Orphanage (an orphanage that the readers of this blog have adopted, and helped to build over the past year, and it’s scheduled to open in just over a month).
We were looking at different ideas, when out of the blue an email came in from Rob over at Towner Jones Photography with an incredible idea; create an official Photo Walk T-shirt and have the profits from the sale of the shirts go to “Springs of Hope, Kenya.” As soon as I read his email, I knew this was it!
Well, with lots of Rob’s logistical help (and some clever design work from our own Nicole Procunier), we now have two official shirt designs to choose from, seen above [click for a larger view] along with some other cool Photo Walk gear.
For each Official World Wide Photo Walk t-shirt you order, $5.00 will go to the Springs of Hope, Kenya orphanage. Here’s the link to Rob’s CafePress.com page to order yours, and not only do you get a cool shirt, you get to help feed some kids who so need our on-going help.
NOTE: There are also special t-shirts just for walk leaders with your choice of fronts, but they include our new official Worldwide Photo Walk logo design and the word “LEADER” in big letters on the back (as seen above). You can find those here.
A big, big thanks to Rob at Towner Jones Photography for coming up with the idea to help the kids at the orphanage, and seeing this project all the way through (here’s a link to Rob’s blog). Also, my thanks in advance to everyone who buys one of the shirts to feed some very deserving children.

Scott,
thanks again for giving us the opportunity to help those kids in Kenya. I will place my order for the T-Shirt as soon as I finish writing you this note. I know you care about those kids, I do too, and I bet most your readers/fans would like to help and be updated about them. I got your CS4 book that helped them, I got NAPP’s T-Shirt ” what happens in Vegas” just because U$ 1 would go to them… Now I am getting curious to see those little faces !!!!
So my suggestion is that a website is made for them, a place where you could direct the fund raising initiatives to, and also a place we could see some pictures of the kids and the progress of the project. Maybe the kids themselves could make the pics? Just a thought !
Again, thanks for making that possible.
Have a great week ! =)
what an good idea.. I want one.
Cool design
Awesome! I instantly made an order on a leader t-shirt!
Hi Scott & Rob,
great idea, the t-shirts!
Does anybody of the not US-based photowalkers have experience with cafepress.com? The site says 7$ extra shipping to Germany/Europe and 13-17 days timeframe.
http://twiturl.de/sotme
I guess that would leave enough time so that the shirt is in my hands on July 18th… it shouldn’t take much longer though, that’s why I’m asking if anybody has experience or if there are other options.
Thanks & Cheers,
Claus
Whats the difference between the T Shirt and the “Fitted” T? Since the Regular had my larger size I went ahead and ordered that but was curious about the other one since it was a buck more and made in the US.
From what I’ve read on cafepress, the “Fitted T” is cut to be a little more form fitting for a given size compared to the plain “T-Shirt”.
Thanks for helping support the kids! – Rob
Over $25 including shipping for a T-shirt and only $5 goes to the orphanage? The donation should be at least twice that. C’mon CafePress, kick it up a bit. This is a good cause and you are getting incredible publicity.
I only see the “shoe” design. Am I missing something?
Done! Shoes with camera design looks awesome! I even bought one for my wife, although I don’t think she is going to join us that early that day…
Rob – Can you make a special one for Scott on a black t-shirt so he can wear it on D-Town TV?
I’m on the fence…would like to get it in black…
The shirts are awesome!!! It would be cool if they came in black as well…
Second (or is it third?) vote for black…. or at least not white.
Black would be cool…however…..at the Photowalk in Chicago last year we were MELTING…..I’m guessing black might not be the best choice for us here!
I’m ordering the white one!
Thanks Scott!

Another one for black, or other color. We shoot in a natural area and white just won’t work.
Other than that, I love the evolution of a photog.
I’ll be sending the link to all my participants.

Happy to help, it would be nice for more to go to the kids.
I just want to see Scott in a WHITE SHIRT, that alone is worth more than the T-shirt.

Scott/Rob,
What a fantastic idea! Count me in. I head to the web-site and pick me up a couple. One for me and one for the wife! Just a super idea!
Thanks,
Dennis
This is oustanding. I sent an email to all of our Cheyenne walkers! I know my husband and I will be picking one up!! What a great idea!
I LOVE the Evolution logo… can’t we get that in the Leader style?
Fantastic idea! I’ve just ordered mine and will send the link to all the people participating in the walk in Bonn, Germany.
Very cool! Ordered mine!

24 hours after ordering I already have mine! That’s FAST!
Very cool idea. I am going to order one for me and my wife tomorrow.
Anyone thought about base caps? I’d love to get a base cap.
bought mine
4:20 pm EDT it ARRIVED.
It looks good.
Wonderful idea! Fun for us and supporting a great cause, too.
I’m a bit confused and hesitant. All of the products seem marked up by $10 from CafePress’s base price. If $5 is going to the orphanage, is Rob claiming the rest of the profit?
Actually, I’m an idiot and wish I could take back that reply. I was looking at two different currencies.
hi everyone.. can anybody help what font was used on the tshirt ? the “Worldwide Photo Walk”
thanks!
never mind, got it… myriad family…
Hi Scott,
SO enjoyed leading my first photo walk. Unfortunately having a hard time finding the info on walkers submitting their photos for consideration for the top prize. Do walkers just email me their photos, or can they upload a bunch to the invermere bc site, where I choose the best of the day?
As well, all I see on the blog section is the Primary Blog – not the Scott Kelby WWPW blog. Your help is appreciated!!
Sorry… not to tech savvy!
I took part in the 2009 photo walk, it was great – But despite multiple requests we have never received any books, nothing for the photowalk leader or (worse still) no book for the local winner. I cannot even get a reply from anyone at kelby media. No doubt this post will disappear a lot faster than any books will arrive. Will we take part this year, I doubt it.
Well I got an email reply !
I was informed that a book had been sent to me on 31st October 2009 (if it was sent then it went to the wrong address), but the winners book had not been sent because they did not have full details.
I forwarded emails showing that I had provided full information before any shipping had taken place (two months prior) My email was dated 25th August 2009.
It doesn’t look like things have been organized properly.
I understand it may not be the fault of the person I am currently dealing with, but someone needs to get their act together.
All I expected was the truth and two books delivered as promised, is it really too much to ask?
I am waiting for an answer, again……
