Don’t Miss Moose’s Images from the Reno Air Races
Now that I’m back from my workshop, I’m catching up on reading my favorite blogs, and I saw over at Moose Peterson’s “Moose New Blog” (link), that he attended the practice sessions for the Reno Air Races (along with a group of 25 aviation photographers).
Nikon Professional Services (NPS) was there to support the event, and besides getting to hang with these guys, Moose came back with some just awesome shots. Moose posted a link to a gallery of 37 of his images from the event, but you’re not out-of-luck for getting your own, because the actual race itself is coming up this September (seeing Moose’s images really makes me want to go now. I’m going to have to check my calendar!!!).
Anyway, check out Moose’s post about the shoot, and check out his images while you’re there. Congrats Moose on capturing some amazing shots!!!! (It really torks you when a guy who is famous for his wildlife photography can turn on a dime and get incredible aviation shots. Moose can shoot anything and make it look great! That guy is sick!).

great link, awesome stuff by Moose!

Did you miss Joe Mcnally’s new photos for National Geographic? They are awesome.
really awesome pics – great pics also from sunset – love that !
Oh, man!!!! Those pics are awesome!! I’m really drooling over those! I love old warbirds and the P-40s, P-51s and Corsair are my faves! I want to go!!!
They look awesome, Moose! That was a fun time and I like the edit you pulled. I just posted more myself because it takes so long to edit through all that stuff and I know how much you shot! A LOT!
Of course you know I’m partial to the Corsair shots…
Boy he sure got some nice sharp shots. its weird i would have probably used a flash to illuminate the planes that are back light there but looking at them they look really cool without it. I just learned something looking at these.
Sweet photos!!!! I was curious if you had any tips? I just went to a local airshow and my pictures were good but not great. I think I had too fast of a shutter speed for the flying ones. Any general suggestions as far as shutter speed for something like this?
