Hi Gang: Rather than write a thousand words, I did a quick video about what’s in the soon-to-be-released Volume 3 of my book “The Digital Photography Book” and you can check it out below. (NOTE: The book is on press right now, and should be in bookstores in just a few weeks. You can preorder yours now at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or KelbyTraining.com).

Excellent! Can’t wait to get part 3 of the worlds best!
Can’t wait! I preordered mine months ago when I bought the Photoshop CS4 for Digital Photographers book. I’m looking forward to it showing up in the mail soon.
Scott, Books 1 & 2 made me a better photographer overnight (or as soon as I could read, understand, and practice them). I can’t wait to get my hands on #3.
Thanks,
JB
HDR????
Hi Brandon:
I do show how to set up your camera to shoot for HDR, and I did a special bonus video on how to take the HDR shots from your camera and then combine and tone map them for the HDR look.
-Scott
Then I will definitely be picking this up. I always love looking at how many different ways everyone comes up with when dealing with HDR. In my Flickr-stream I try for a more natural look but on occasion I’ll tilt it more left side of unrealistic. [But not to overdone

I can’t wait! I’ve become a much better photographer reading the other two volumes. Heading over to Kelby Training now to order my copy!
Greetings from Sweden!

Loved volume 1 & 2 so time to order a copy of 3.
Part 1 turned my interest in photography into enthousiasm and part 2 turned my enthousiasm into an obsession to learn more, experiment more and photograph more. Don’t think I can wait for the Dutch translation of the book though, so I will be (pre)ordering it the minute I see it on one of the online bookstores in my country.
Scott your books are fantastic ! We have preiordered two copies right away after reading your post today. For me and my boss. He will be glad to have it also as not only amateurs can learn a lot from them. Pro’s can find lot of stuff there also.
Scott,
Will this be available in the Kindle format?
Hi Scott:
So far they’ve converted both Vols. 1 and 2 to Kindle format, so I hope they’ll do the same for Vol. 3. That part, though, is out of my hands (that’s up to Amazon).
-Scott
I think it’s up to the publisher – peachpit, in this case – to make it available….
I bought 1 and 2 recently and loved it. I took your advice on getting a remote for my camera when shooting lightning; and had a great time in an electrical storm above my house. Yes, unsafe, but I suppose that’s the thrill of it all!
Can’t wait to see what book 3 has in store for us!!
Great News Scott! Looking forward to it.
Can we preorder book #4 now?
Scott, we’re all excited about the new book. I can’t count the number of people I’ve referred to your site and your books. The Digital Photography Book Vol I&II have been favorites. Every client I’ve recommended that book to has been extremely happy with it. Thanks for helping all of us out here to improve our skills!
Can’t wait to get my copy after leading the Photowalk here in Prescott!!!!
Already placed an order
Looking forward to read it
Very big fan of the books, and also all the great videoes at kelbytraining.com
Just subscribed for a year.
A thing i would loved to see a video course or a nice blogg guide on, is how to shoot cars
Any tips on Tilt and shift lenses? Having a bad time trying to understand how it works…
Already ordered! I always order 2 of your books because my 12 year old grandson likes them too. We have a lot of fun shooting together. I get him his own books so I can have one to study! We are both looking forward to getting our hands on this new one. The first two were terrific!!!
Thanks,
Brian
Looks great Scott, always been a huge fan and I have several of your books sitting here at my desk all the time. Just bought this one and it will join the collection!
Thanks man!
N.
Oh yeah!! Love these books! You are the Master!
I went to Barnes & Noble back in May and asked when it was coming out. They told me August and I was like “Aaaaa! That’s forever from now!” So I’ve been looking forward to it.
Thanks, Scott! I’ll have to check out the book. Is it available as a bundle with the previous 2?
Also, Who produced this video for you? I love the moving drop shadows with the text. Did the Scriv do that? After Effects?
Thanks!
Scott,
I’ve had this on pre-order with Amazon for what feels like forever. I can’t wait to get it in my hands! Thanks for the preview! I am really looking forward to the “avoiding problems like a pro” segment, assuming that’s talking about shooting people. Assuming it’s not though, I still look forward to it!
The first two books are gold, I learned more tips from them than anywhere else. I am going to pre-order this right now. You do a great job on all your books, but this series in particular is something special.
Have come up with a late suggestion for future books regarding how to get people to read introduction.
I go with the thought pattern of renaming Into to
Hi SK,
Bugger, I missed the bleeding cut off! Can you please re-call the book.
Introduction Dilema
1. Rename
2. Refer back to important information later in the book.
Rename Idea works for me, having said that you basically have 3 seconds to grab my attention and sell me to read the introduction. THen you’ve got to maintain the interest level.
Q. Why do people buy the book
A. To learn to be a better photographer
Q. So why should we read the introduction
A. You want to tell us stuff we need to know that helps either digest or retain important stuff (thats how you’ve got to market those pages)
For me a rename to something like
Tips to get the most out of this book
Kind Regards,

Awesome can’t wait for the next book. You have some of the best photo tips in the world!
I am strictly an amateur photographer but I’m trying to be the best amateur photographer that I can be
!! I have taken several classes at our local camera store and really enjoyed those. One of the gals in my last class told me about your Books and I decided to pick up Book 1 last week….I have to say…..I’m hooked !!! I love your style and find it VERY easy to follow and I feel confident to try new ideas and shots ! I can’t thank you enough ! I’m almost finished Book 1 and will definitely picking up Book 2 soon and I can hardly wait until Book 3 is released !!! Thank you for making photography easier for ALL of us ! I truly feel a confidence in my photography that I haven’t had before and I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate it !! Thank you, thank you, thank you !!!!!
A friend had volume 1 that I skimmed and enjoyed very much, so I went to the store to buy a copy and was told vol. 3 was about to come out. Could I start with vol. 3 or am I better off starting off with the first volume?
Whew!
Just checked my email to make sure I preordered…. LOL>.. I did! Last May! Now I have something to look forward to this month!
FWIW – I was waiting for volume 3 thinking it was an update to 1 and 2. Happened to pick up 1 and 2 in a bookstore to skim through them and realized each book is new and different things to try, not just an update of the previous edition.
So, of course, I bought book 1 and 2 and am looking forward to receiving book 3.
SOOO … when you put the description of Book 3 on Amazon, you may want to clarify that it’s a completely different book than 1 and 2, so you end up selling all 3 (and then maybe you can buy that Ferrari instead of just renting it!)
Vol. 1 and 2 are GREAT!!!! I can’t wait for VOL #3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Scott for all your helpful tips and tricks!!!
p.s thanks for the how to fireworks….. 4th was great this year
I bought book 1 and 2 and I’m looking forward to book 3.
but … vol.3 will know when translated into other languages (including Polish)?
Greetings from Polish!
What is the status of my order #2342765 for your new “Volume 3 Digital Photography Book”?
Thanks, Arthur Lawrence
