It’s Unexpected No-Guest-Blog Wednesday
Hi Gang:
I wasn’t able to get the completed post for this week’s guest blogger in time for posting, so unfortunately today will be “Unexpected No-Guest-Blog” Wednesday.
I realized this might be the case yesterday on “The Day Before What Could Well Be Unexpected No-Guest-Blog” Wednesday, so that’s why I didn’t announce the guest blogger in advance, like usual.
Hope you have a great July 1st nonetheless, and we’ll see you back here tomorrow for “The Day After Unexpected No Guest Blog” Thursday.
-Scott

Scott,
Next time get a hold of me – the regular guy – to do a post!
(Might be an interesting bend once a year!)
~paul
All you had to do was ask, I could have done a post on matte painting,
Rich
Me too,
I would happily have a go, as a graphic designer and photographer running a small studio in the north east of England I could probably give a different view to the usual.
Very Alice in Wonderland, can we expect anyone to say “off with their heads” anytime soon!
I’d be happy to be your guest blogger. You’ve quite a following in the UK and perhaps some UK guests would give a different angle on all things photographic.
I guess it’s pressure of work, so no excuse necessary;-)
Keep up the good work.
Ian
Scott,
It might be a good idea to let some of these guys have a run at a post once in a while….feels like a breath of fresh air to me!….not that your esteemed guests haven’t been the crem-de-la-crem, but it might be cool to get an “everymans” perspective occaisionally. This could have been a pretty happy accident!
Joe
Hi Joe:
I totally agree, and I have had some “regular guys” as guest bloggers in the past. The problem is; this didn’t all happen until late yesterday. With only a couple of hours before our “drop dead” deadline, I didn’t feel like I could email someone new and say, “I need you to do a guest blog post, and I need it in two hours.”
It was definitely a timing issue in this case, but I’ll definitely have more “regular guys” in the future—-to be fair to them though, I need to give them more time to prepare.
-Scott
I’m a pretty regular kind of guy!
You’re fired!
where do we apply for refunds?
actually i think its amazing how you’re able to update your blog with interesting stuff – 5 days a week.
Post something quickly! They are rioting in the streets here and the National Guard can’t hold out much longer…
Scott,
I hate to sound like a me too but having some of us lesser photogs in the blog would be interesting. If I did a blog, I would call it “Photoshop, Running and Life”
Joe
You could always get away with posting a link to a Canadian flag, it’s Canada Day

I would love to do a guest blog as well!
I could always use the Lipsum Generator:
http://www.lipsum.com/
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec sed augue justo, ut feugiat justo. Maecenas eu lacus sed ante volutpat eleifend in consequat metus. Morbi at sollicitudin libero. Praesent facilisis lectus ac leo posuere eu faucibus nisl facilisis. Nulla sollicitudin venenatis quam, sed viverra lorem dictum in. Cras in felis justo. Nunc id mi interdum massa lacinia commodo molestie a justo. Proin accumsan hendrerit justo, eget iaculis libero adipiscing fermentum.
See. That’s not too bad, is it?
Could of had Brad do a photowalk round-up for those who have not signed up yet.
I’m amazed you find so much content to write about! If you hadn’t mentioned the guest blogger issue, I wouldn’t have noticed. You have a bajillion other great posts to occupy the readers.
I bet he was going to have Dave Cross do it, but then he backed out when he realized it would posted on Canada Day.
Hi everyone,
This is my first time on this web site that is particularly interesting by the way! Congratulations!
I need an advice. I’m presently owning a Nikon D300 and in the near futur (I meen in the next 12 months) I will look to buy a full frame model from Nikon too (D700 or D3). So, before that moove, I would like to buy a fish eye lens. I saw that there is a DX format fisheye lens and a full frame format too for almost the same price. What would be the best deal, the one for the full frame or the one for the DX?
Thanks ! By the way, sorry if my english is not perfect, I’m still working on it… I’m from Quebec city, Canada.

Buy the full frame format lens if you’re going to buy (and only have ) a full frame camera (eg. D700).
Hay Scott I have an idea for you to ponder. Why not have a little contest. Ask those of us that read the blog to submit a blog that we would write for you blog. You look them all over and you choose a winner (or several winners). You could keep the winners in a folder on your computer and use one whenever you needed to (like today).
Just a thought.
In many cases, we already have content ready to go, so even short notice would work. See for example, “To Clone Or Not To Clone” at my blog: http://www.photographybydlr.blogspot.com. It would have been a proper subject for this site. Anyway, your site is always my first site to visit every day, so thank for all of the information you provide.
Even a couple of short paragraphs about the unexpected no guest blog Wednesday make me chuckle.
thanks, tim
Scott, I agree with Steve. Tried to replied with that suggestion this morning at work, but apparently they didn’t allow me to send it for some reason. Enjoying the mix of guest bloggers you have and building on your photo walks I think a guest blogger contest would be great. Your team can handle it. The winners could be featured 2, 3, 4, or 6 times a year and/or you could have a web page. Also it would be insurance when you needed it. I also thought that a annual CD/DVD of the best of guest bloggers might be a useful education product.
To Steve, excellent suggestion.
To Scott, Thanks for doing such a great job in keeping us updated in so many facets of this wonderful passion called photography.
God bless.
