Check out this Way Cool Video from Jill Enfield
Friend of the blog Richard Rabinowitz (former Publisher of Popular Photography and American Photo) turned me onto this very cool time lapse video from photographer Jill Enfield that is really going to strike a chord with anyone who has ever developed their own film. But beyond that, this two minute video is just darn cool, and seeing the process unfold in front of your eyes is almost as fascinating as the portrait she creates.
I’ve embedded the video below, but also make sure you visit Jill’s Website to see some very engaging, thoughtful fine art work.

Woah, that’s fantastic! Great to see how pre-digital was done! A beautiful photograph, too.
Thanks for sharing it, Scott.
So glad that Scott did this – and happy you like the video and photo – Thank you for checking it out. Best Jill
I love the look of collodion images. Anyone wanting to see more great photos using this process should check out the work of Sally Mann.
Both Sally and I (along with lots of others) were taught by France Scully Osterman and Mark Osterman. I also took a class with John Coffer. All of them are wonderful! Best Jill
That’s awesome!
And I have to say that sometimes I miss my old film camera and all the hours spent in the darkroom!

Lots of people still shoot film and either work in the darkroom or scan in for digital output. It is really about what you like to use so that you can enjoy doing it. I love that I can move between the centuries and just pick and choose what I like to do for the affect I am after. Best Jill
Takes a lot of dedication to do these things. Makes 35 mm film processing look easy. But my real question is: What is the music? Sounds great.
Someone else told you – Zoe Keating. The movie was supposed to have her information on it, but the video guy put the wrong one up. New one will be there soon! Check out Zoe’s site – she is amazing!! Best Jill
Fun stuff. Nice use of music by Zoe Keating http://www.zoekeating.com/
Thank you – glad someone was paying attention and knew who she was! (see comment above). Best Jill
Ah instant photography as it should be, if only digital were as easy.
Thanks for sharing.
I agree! What a learning curve!! Best, Jill
Wow, sorry folks. This just made me value my digital camera.
that is what makes the world go round. best jill
The video has been removed on YouTube due to some copyright claim. Doesn’t Jill have her own copyright on it? Is there another source?
