New Online Classes From Kelby Training
I haven’t done an update in a few weeks on some of the new classes we’ve posted on Kelby Training Online, and we’ve got some really great ones I wanted to share, including:
How to Clean your DSLR Sensor (with Laurie Excell). (view lessons)
Copyright Registration with Jack Reznicki and Attorney Ed Greenberg. (view lessons)
This next one has been up for a few weeks, but I haven’t mentioned it, and it’s a really cool class.
Successful Pre-Production for Location Shooting, with Richard Riley. (view lessons)
Also, I’ve been working on my own new series of online classes called:
“Light it, Shoot it, Retouch it”
…where I take you from an empty studio, all the way through the lighting set-up, through the live shoot (and the process of getting the shot), and then taking those shots into Lightroom and Photoshop for the final edits and retouching. You see everything from beginning to end—nothing’s left out.
I’ll be launching three of these (two of these I’ve just wrapped filming, and the third is set to film on Tuesday), and each one focuses on just one particular look—one particular lighting set-up, and one finished image. I am really, really excited about how these are coming out, and if they’re well received I’ll be adding more looks to this studio series.
We’ve also added a unique class from Dave Cross on GridIron Flow, along with:
- The Canon EOS 5D and 5D Mark II with Rick Sammon view lessons
- The Canon 40D and 50D with Rick Sammon view lessons
Plus, we’ve got new classes coming from David Ziser, Joe McNally, and we’ve got a couple of brand new instructors coming on board which we’ll be announcing in the next week or so. Lots of great stuff coming gang!!! More details very soon!

Right up my alley- looks like I’ll be getting a big bowl of popcorn, some liquid refreshment and parking my favorite chair in front of the ol’ monitor for awhile. Thanks for some new, very useful classes. Cheers! -M
Hey Scott,
How you do it I don’t know, but please don’t stop.
Thanks for all the hard work you guys do,
Best wishes to you and yours,
Glyn
Really looking forward for the new class!
You really should make a video on how to photograpf cars
Can’t wait for the new classes from Joe McNally.
Was Matt an 80s movie star?

wow.
Love your training courses, and so glad to see there’s loads more being added regularly – well worth the subscription cost.
A friend who attended the Prescott Photo Walk called me last night about some junk on his sensor. He sent me an image to look at.
Oil on the sensor. Hey, I’ve been there. And you know what I told him? That KelbyTraining.com had a new tutorial on sensor cleaning, and he’s got a free month coming his way. Yes, I’m on KelbyTraining often.
Thanks for helping us continue to improve in so many ways Scott. The tutorials are great!
I’m looking forward to those new photography courses from start to finish. One question I’d like to ask is why there isn’t an online course for Down & Dirty Tricks with Photoshop?
Can’t wait. Between you, McNally and Ziser I’d better get out a bottle of No-Doz. See if you can talk McNally into doing a Kelby Training session in his home state. It’ll sellout in minutes.
sounds like some great classes. wish i had better equipment.
I’d like to suggest people take a careful look at the courses by Laruie Excell. I took her course two or three years ago at Photoshop World Orlando. I have always thought of myself as an advanced amateur, but mentioned to her just before the class that I thought I ought to get back to basics and make sure I really knew what I was talking about. With that approach, I then took her class a few minutes later and found some great tips I had never thought of.
Kelby Online Training is super awesome!
Thanks so much for putting up some classes for the Canon followers. I check out all the photography information that you make available that is non-Nikon specific and learn a great deal from it. Nikon, Canon? Ford, Chevrolet? Everybody has a personal favorite and they are both great cameras. It’s wonderful to see some information specifically for us Canon followers.
Looking forward to some new classes with Joe, it´s been awhile now since the last update. I´ve looked at them several times already and i cant wait to see some fresh stuff.
Hey Scott,
I love Kelby Training. My minor complaint with this post is the picture of Laurie does not do her justice. I met her during a DLWS event and she is a very beautiful woman and a hoot to be around. Surely you have a better photo of her you could post.
Hi Scott, tried to find a way to send this to you offline, but couldn’t.
I saw this on a forum where the discussion was about copyright:
By going on the Worldwide Photowalk, I got a free month on-line training on Scott Kelbys site. I just watched a long and detailed video on copyrights. According to their lawyer, you don’t really own a copyright until it is registered by the Federal Copyright office (US). Now, if you have had it on your website already, then I believe that its a different issue. I think that you would be okay, but if he wants to do something legal about it, then I would take it down.
Having not seen the lesson in question, I can’t say 100%, but I’m guessing the poster misunderstood. At least I hope so.
When is the food photography training online? You promised it a while ago already…
