Announcing a Special Bundle of my Digital Photography Books (All Three Volumes)
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up: We’ve put together a special “Library Bundle” of “The Digital Photography Book” which contains all three volumes (Volumes 1, 2 & the new Volume 3) and it includes a FREE Limited Edition Slipcase (Shown above). It’s only $44.95 for the bundle (if you’re a NAPP member, it’s only $36.99), and you can order yours right here.
If you already own all three books, and just want the Limited Edition slipcover, you can buy just the slipcase for $11.95. Here’s that link.

Yahoooo … I was just about to buy all the three books … and u came on time … great price too … thanx Scott u r the best …

Got two of the books already and the third is on order…..so can you ship the slipcase to the UK? If so, what would the postage be?
Did you include room in the slipcase for a volume #4?
I for one sure hope there’s another volume or 2 in our future
i think i pre-ordered it early enough to get the autographed slipcover.. when its books you definitely know you eventually want, you can’t help but jump at a good bundle price…
Damn! I pre-ordered the 3rd book to go with my other two and it came last week (another great book.. really enjoying it).
As much as I love your stuff.. you are not getting another penny from me Mr Kelby.. until the next book comes out.
Will the bundle be available from Amazon, etc?
For those who haven’t read Scott’s Digital Photography books, I’ve got this to add…..
When I read his first volume I was traveling around a lot, and I had a travel blog. After reading the book comments started pouring in on the blog and privately. “Did you get a new camera? What’s changed with your photography? New lenses? What’s changed?”
Seriously, Volume 1 affected my photography in such a profound way that my readers, friends, and family all noticed the difference.
Volume 2 just took things further. And I can’t wait to get my copy of Volume 3 after leading the Prescott AZ Photowalk!
Thanks for helping us so much every day Scott!
Scott,
Volume three is now my favourite of all three volumes. You summarize in 5 pages what I covered in two semesters of commercial photography at school, and . . . you give me more ideas as to how I can successfully shoot commercial products without tearing my hair out every time I am facing a bottle of wine or food photography.
Also, I just switched from Alien bees to Elinchrom, kept my AB ring light and moon unit, primarily because of build quality and exposure control on camera. I use the Nikon CLS system so Elinchrom is a nice fit for more power with my D3 and D700.
However, you have cost me way more money with all the new gear I have acquired since starting at volume one!!!!! But you know what the say, “you get what you pay for” and that is so true with photo gear.
But Scott, I am indebted to you for your wonderful books and guidance, Please keep writing and teaching, I am a forever student.
Sincerely,
Iden
Scott, my copy of Volume 3 just arrived and I agree with Iden, I think it’s the best one yet. That could be because you cover more situations here that pertain to what I’m trying to do. But through the whole series, what I love is how much information you manage to convey so concisely. And I love how I can skim through the entire book in a couple of hours but then it won’t get filed away on the shelf – I keep returning to these books on a regular basis for “refreshers.” Thanks. (P.S. Love the blog, too.)
The books are amazing. Having gotten them from the library I’m now ordering them to own as a handy reference.
But $28 for shipping? Kinda defeats the great deal that the bundle seemed to be…
Hi there!
Finally, I got my copy of “The Digital Photography Book, Vol. 3″ in the mail and I eagerly started reading it. So far, it’s a great book, but I found a funny mistake on page 19. It says: “By the way, adding another flash doesn’t double your light output, it just adds about an extra stop of light”. Well, as we all know, doubling the light output and adding an extra stop of light is actually the same thing! So, you do double your light output, and you do add en extra stop of light.
Oh, and by the way, on page 21 you say that “since the light is far back, it’s going to spread and soften a bit anyway”. Well, I’m sure you know this is not correct either. The further away from your subject the light source is, the harder the light gets. Just ask your friend Joe
Well, my bundle arrived today, and it was one of the signed editions! Unfortunately, the slipcase itself was also falling apart. 1 inch rips on two corners and one of the inner flaps had also completely torn apart. My guess is that the weight of the books during shipping was too much for the slipcase. Perhaps it would be a good idea to shrink-wrap or bind somehow bind the books together better so this doesn’t happen?
I too just received the three books and slip case (again!) and while the books are informational and the images on the slipcase look great, everything is crushed by the lousy choice of packaging. Kelby Training has decided to charge $14 for a common manila envelope and FedX manages to damage the cardboard slipcase and all three books, twice! I say twice because my first copies arrived torn and battered looking like they were run over. Kelby Training did the right thing and replaced them, but the replacements arrived in the same type of envelope and just as damaged. Every corner of the slipcase is torn and bent, while all three books are torn on one end. While the discount on the books is good, the high cost of shipping and the amount of damage to the books and slipcase makes the whole experience very disappointing. At least the book content makes up for it.
When are the Vol.3’s shipping for the photowalk leaders and group winners? I’ve been waiting to get mine for a while now. Can’t wait to get my hands on it!
