Congratulations to all of the winners.

One thing that I did notice about the group of winners was, the majority of the themes of these shots did not have a “great deal” going on in the scene… not super busy shots, strong focal objectives. Learned something I guess ; )

Purple Lady is my top choice. Evokes so many thoughts. Makes you want to know more about this fascinating lady. Extremely well done.

Although the contest was such a good idea, i don’t think is good to make this sort of prize distribution to just a single person. Everyone would be much more happy if the prizes were distributed among more people.

Hi Scott,

Truly a wonderful selection of images, and the grand prize winner, a truly deserving one! And do excuse me for feeling smug about my selection (from Chennai, India) making the final cut

One nitpick, if you don’t mind: Could you correct the name of the photographer of ‘On the Marina’ to “Kabirdas Madhavan” please? “Son Papdi” is actually the name of the sweet (a local version of cotton candy) inside that jar on the cart. Son Papdi is one of the weekend delicacies you’ll find on the Marina beach. And to solve the mystery of the cart-near-the-ocean, in one of the other pictures from the Chennai walk, you can actually see the vendor push the cart around on the beach – he must have taken a break from doing all that pushing in the sand! The caption of the photograph is supposed to read “Son Papdi on the Marina”, btw

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks for the opportunity to be part of this event. Hope to reprise it next year.
