Scott,
I appreciate you run the N. AMERICAN association of PP – but just so you know, there are many, many photogs on my side of the Atlantic that would like to benefit from your teaching!
Rogier,
Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Forget it. They can’t even get off the coasts here. A Denver here and a Chicago there and that’s about it. If you’re not on the coasts, I think you have to have a population of 1 million or more to even make the list.
Which coast is Livonia Mi. on They were teaching there 2 weeks ago.
That obviously played to the Detroit crowd, you know that. I’m not saying they don’t come inland, but only to the biggest cities and even then, the ratio is way to low.
I agree the ratio of classes on the coasts seems far higher than in the mid-west and the south. Atlanta gets a few but Birmingham and Nashville have become the forgotten cities.
I’ve got an idea. Just make the tours available online in the form of live webinars. That way we could all attend and with the lowering of expenses (no travel expenses for the crew, no halls to rent) the price could be reduced to say $55 to $65. The money saved on travel for many of us would be great and we’d all be able to go to the less frequently presented classes.
A small virtual trade show could be set up so we’d still get to see the vendors and take advantage of those important “show specials”!
While I’d miss the comradeship it would sure beat not getting to go at all and hearing about how great it was by folks in the big cities.
I guess the seminars we did this year in Covington, Kentucky, San Antonio, Texas, Austin, Texas, Arlington, Texas, Houston, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, WI, Columbus, OH, Nashville, TN, Indianapolis, Tampa, FL, Kansas City, MO, Orlando, FL, Charlotte, NC and St. Louis don’t count, eh?

Scott,
We have a problem. I had no idea you guys were in Nashville back in June but I sure would have liked to have attended. I went back and did some research and I didn’t get an email from NAPP mentioning it. I did find it in some fine print in the June edition of the WACOM newsletter but that was it. I guess it’s possible it got caught up in Yahoo Mail’s spam filter and if so I’m disappointed.
I also did a search of your blog and found nothing about it. I like how you’ve added the upcoming cities to this post. Please keep this up as I read your Blog every morning. You might look at installing a rolling banner with all the upcoming sites shown as this would be hard to miss.
I’m serious about the online version. I’m sure it would take some serious bandwidth to pull it off but it would be fantastic for those of us on the road less traveled. Think about doing it for tours that are near the end of their cycle if you’re concerned about hurting your live attendance numbers. As much stuff as you guy’s cover I bet a lot of folks who saw you live would watch the online version 6 to 8 months later just to get a memory refresh. Hey, you could even give another $5 off for Kelby Training subscribers. Hint! Hint!
Thanks again for all your hard work.
Who said they don’t count Scott? Again, it’s about the ratio. Plot them out, I did. You certainly have the Ohio river valley covered. Same goes for Florida and Texas. 80% of your seminars are within a few hours (under 5) hours drive of each other. Try doing that in the plains states or out west (not including CA). Hey, you want to miss out on a great business opportunity, that’s your loss. But you’re simply ignoring a larger part of the country. Take a cue from David Ziser’s digital wakeup tour. Now that’s even coverage.
They only count if you live there. Next stop Tri-Cities, WA??? LOL Matt was in the Palouse, he coulda come by for lunch at least…..
Wha’ happened to the LR 2 tour? Been waiting for it to make the rounds, and its never mentioned anymore. That’s a shame.
Didn’t I just do one 2-1/2 weeks ago?

What a bunch of crybabies, bellyachers, and grumblers.
I prefer to look at it as “The squeaky wheel gets the grease”.
Scott: any chance we can get a Tampa date for Joe’s Location Lighting? I’m sure he needs a reason to come visit?
you guys should set up an International Division for NAPP
Get a E.U + Asia Branch out there, its a real pity those of us outside the US cant enjoy such an education
. And its not like there’s a lack of able teachers out there, just an organisation like Napp outside the US that can get something like this running with them
