“This Weekend Only” Killer Deal on a Ray Flash
We’ve snagged the first killer “this weekend only” deal of the year—this time from Expo Imaging (the same people who bring you ExpoDisc) on their Ray Flash ring flash adapter (here’s the link to learn more about Ray Flash).
Here’s the deal: For this weekend only, they are offering you (the readers of my blog), 15% OFF a Ray Flash which turns your regular Nikon or Canon flash into a ring flash, so that takes the price down to $169.95 (from its normal street price of $199.95).
When you place your order, you have to use this Promo Code to get the special discount:
Promo Code: KELBYXMAS
I’ve used the Ray Flash myself (in fact, I talked about it in Volume 3 of my Digital Photography Book), and it really does a pretty amazing job of giving you the ring flash look without the hassles, price, and weight of using a regular Ring Flash (Here’s the link to order yours).
Note: This special 15% off deal ends this Sunday at Midnight EST.

Scott, what time does promo start? Tried it at 1:35am, no luck yet.
Is it a US only Promo Scott? Been thinking about a ring flash for a while but I’m in the UK.
Still not working at 6:25am eastern time Friday.
Is shipping free with this deal? If not, it’s not that great a deal … minimum shipping cost for me is $15 (5 day) or $26 (3 day). I can get free NAPP shipping at B&H.
Tried the code at 9:06 Eastern. . .doesn’t work.
Promo still won’t work at 9:08am.
ON it’s way. Thanks
I’m hearing good things about the Orbis Ring Flash as well.
Shipping pretty much kills this deal.
I’ve got a ray flash and have used it several times. I’ve had some trouble with the results so I was excited to see that Scott has covered how to use it in Chapter 12 of his new book “Photo Recipes Live” That will be one of the first chapters I read/watch!
Promo code doesn’t work.
Code doesn’t work and nobody answers the phone.
I just spoke over the phone with Melanie in customer service. They are aware of the issue with the code not calculating the discount. We did a bunch of tests on inputting the code and there is a problem on their end and they are in the process of figuring out why the code is broken. I will try and post another response when things are working.
Thank you all for your patience! The code is up and running!
Be careful when you enter the code to use the right case. Thanks Melanie!
Hello Scott,
I know this is not ideal but
I need your help.
Will you send me an email?
Nice product – seems like they could have made it adjustable so that one could fit all camera/flash combo. Or at least by camera brand.
The Orbis ring flash is universal but you have to hold it with other hand and more expensive.
Orbis does have a bracket that lets you use it hands-free (I got mine for free as a promo from Adorama) but it’s pretty bulky for handheld cameras. Works fine on a tripod.
It’s ordered. Thanks, Scott.
Nice discount, but the shipping is way over priced. Kind of kills the deal.
The people who comment on shipping are right, do the math. Rayflash 169.95, shipping 15.95. Go to B&H Photo Rayflash 199.95, free shipping. Saving only 14.90. As they say on Monday night football, Scott Com’On Man!
Nice deal but shipping to UK is too much. Maybe they could do something for us here in Europe? Nice try tho.
Is this a special discount??? Other site(s) offer 15% discount code at all times…for example…
Save 15% on all ExpoImaging Store products like the RayFlash or ExpoDisc when you enter ronmart09 in the “Enter Redeem Code” box and click Redeem in the ExpoImaging Store’s shopping cart as shown above.
Joe is right. This not a unique deal. David Ziser also offered the 15% off deal recently to people who attended one of his seminars. Is ExpoImaging planning an update to Ray Flash given the Orbis competition? I’m planning to wait and see.

hey can i use it on a CANON 500D???
Mmmmmmm gummy frogs! Nom nom nom nom.
Thanks for the deal Scott. Without you I would have had to pay more money for this accessory. Expoimaging opted for a higher quality shipping method due to issues with USPS and UPS. FedEx charges via dimension and weight rather than weight only. I still saved money even with the premium shipping. Please keep these deals going. Many times the happy and satisfied people don’t comment. I hope to reverse that here.
I tried at about 11:45 and the offer had expired. Seems like lots of other folks have had problems with this offer unlike other in the past.
I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our society, and I think it is safe to say that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.
I don’t mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside… I just hope that as technology further advances, the possibility of transferring our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It’s one of the things I really wish I could encounter in my lifetime.
