Tomorrow’s Guest Blogger Is…
Australian photographer, Peter Eastway! We got an email from James, one of our Australian readers, suggesting we give Peter’s work a look. When I (Brad) did, I was quite impressed and immediately contacted him about doing a guest blog!
Peter is the editor of Better Photography Magazine and is a great teacher and photographer. Come back tomorrow to see some of his beautiful images from a recent expedition to Antarctica, and hear his intriguing thoughts on post processing landscape images!

I would like to know what Peter thinks of the new Itablet(or whatever it’s called) thats coming out and whether he thinks this type of technology is a threat to books and magazines. I have heard that 80% of todays photography is “on the web” only and resolution is becoming less important. I listen to about 11 podcasts on a regular basis and these are the things I’m hearing on them. I advertise in the newspaper regularly with my business but I’m not sure that it is an effective medium any longer.
It really depends on what your business is whether newspaper ads are effective.
I don’t buy that 80% number. Just look at everything on billboards, TV, magazines, newspapers, menus and such. Just remember most people who do podcasts have bought into the internet as the be all for everything. They call paper the dead tree edition and that disks are dead. Maybe they are for some, but not for most people.
Here is an interesting article:

Peter is a great guy and both his magazines are gorgeous (Better Photoshop Techniques and Better Photography). I look forward to them every issue! When I was speaking in Sydney, Peter took off an afternoon to take me around to shoot and show me the sights. Welcome Peter.
